An incredibly tight group which IG-88, regardless of being selected last by many, comes through with a four point margin. He follows up to a group win in 2015 where he eliminated Power Droid and Han Carbonite before going out himself to Luke Farmboy in the 2nd round. As for Han Bespin he'll see a group elimination as a backward step as in both 2014 and 2015 he won his opening group stage, in fact in 2015 he then won comfortably 16-11 in the second round against R2-D2 Sensorscope before being hammered by Darth vader in the last 16!

An easy victory for the smartly dressed Luke Bespin figure, another figure who has always underperformed in previous tournaments, eliminated in the group stage in 2015 as he finished runner up to TIE Pilot and in 2014 he may well have qualified out of his group but he was consequently well beaten in the second round to Hoth Stormie. As for the rebel Commander and Chief Chirpa they continue to be group stage failures and the hunt for the first Ewok qualifier continues.

1. 71 points. Stormtrooper. QUALIFIED.
2. 40 points. Snaggletooth (Blue).
3. 33 points. Bespin Security Guard (Black).


A dominant display from the 2014 champion, Stormie didn't defend his title well in 2015 as he was pipped in the group stage by eventual winner Boba Fett, but this year he smashes through his group in the most prolific way. The bookies have got him favourite to get back his trophy that he lost, and everyone will be wanting to avoid him in Sundays 2nd round draw. A real contender.

2. 55 points. Princess Leia (Bespin Gown).
3. 32 points. Max Rebo.

A tight tight tight affair with the goldenrod winning by just two points. Threepio got out the group stage in 2014 but failed miserably in 2015 when he finished 25 points behind R5-D4 in group A. Leia Bespin will be disappointed having gotten to the second round last time out but she can't get across the line and will have to wait another 12 months to try again.
