GROUP M RESULTS

1. 59 points. Imperial Stormtrooper (Hoth Battle Gear). QUALIFIED.
2. 46 points. Greedo
3. 40 points. Hammerhead.


On paper this looked a difficult group with three decent figures. In fact in previous competitions only Hammerhead failed to qualify out the group stage when he came a cropper too Luke X-Wing. The winner of this group however came through relatively comfortably, Hoth Stormie has gotten to both the two previous finals but lost out in both, in 2014 he was beaten 18-16 to the Stormtrooper and then in 2015 he went down 22-19 to Boba Fett. Hoth Stormie is clearly a forum favourite though and with Fett out he could possibly make it third time lucky. Over the two previous competitions he has knocked out figures such as Luek Bespin, Biker Scout, Yoda, TIE Pilot, Luke X-Wing, Han Hoth amongst many many others and adds Greedo and Hammerhead to his path of destruction. Greedo will be gutted to fall at the first hurdle, he has previously been beaten in the 2nd round both previous comps losing to Yoda and TIE Pilot respectively.

GROUP N RESULTS


1. 55 points. Bib Fortuna. QUALIFIED.
2. 45 points. FX-7 Medical Droid.
3. 44 points. Ugnaught.


Previously none of these three figures have ever qualified from the group stages which presented all these past unloved figures to better themselves. It was Bib Fortuna that took the game by the scruff of the neck and dominated from the off, he will be looking forward to the 2nd round draw next Sunday (17th) to see whom he'll be facing. FX-7 and Ugnaught had a ding dong battle for second place with the Medical Droid pinching it by a point, and for the second year running Ugnaught holds up his qualifying group.

1. 60 points. Snaggletooth (Red). QUALIFIED.
2. 50 points. AT-AT Commander.
3. 34 points. Droopy McCool.


Another group where the participants have had any previous good form, only Red Snag had ever gotten out of a group stage and that was in 2015, his progress was short lived when he was battered by R2-D2 26-3 in the second round. Snag and the Commander were in a tight battle up to the latter stages of the group stage when Snag finally took control of the group, he'll be hoping to make a better showing of himself in the second round this year but will take heart that he is the only cantina alien to progress, I'm sure when him, Greedo, Hammerhead and Walrus Man are all sharing a blue milk this afternoon he'll be rubbing it in.

1. 65 points. Lando Calrissian (Skiff Guard Disguise). QUALIFIED.
2. 42 points. Han Solo in Carbonite Chamber.
3. 37 points. Paploo.


Lando Skiff makes it 1 out of 1 for the Lando qualifiers, both his other incarnations are live in the current four groups. Like the previous group Lando Skiff is the only figure to have progressed previously out of these three figures, that was back in 2014. Although he finished bottom of his group in 2015, it was a difficult group as he failed to get past group winner TIE Pilot and runner up Luke Bespin. Paploo, who I find one of the better looking Ewoks, finished bottom for the third season running.
