Euro 2024 chat & predictions

Jesus ****, that was dull.

My lot are shite, but we play more exciting football than that!

I saw something about England's group being the dullest ever in Euro's history. 5 draws out of six and no team scoring more than 1 goal. Sums up England well.

Good to see those who thought TAA was to blame for England being **** are shown up for the scapegoating morons they are. He was far from outstanding, possibly due to him, you know, being a ****ing right back, but he also was NOT the only, or even main, reason why Engerlund stunk.

A lot more of the blame lies with the Manager IMO

Southgate is utterly clueless. Why the hell won't he play Bellingham (although he's been terrible since the first half of the first game- looks like he's wrongly undroppable though) next to Rice, with Foden CAM and Gordon LW? Hasn't anyone learned from Lampard/Gerrard/Scholes? Square pegs, as usual. Some great subs available- Eze for Gordon, Palmer for Foden, Bowen for Saka, Watkins for Kane, Mainoo/Wharton for CM. Crying out for some decisive subs last night... Gordon on with a couple of minutes to go. Should've come on after an hour. Bellingham should've been hooked early second half, with Palmer or Foden slotting into the middle.

I'm sure you'll all scream "Arsenal bias" (and yeah, I don't really like Kane) but based on the last 3 games he shouldn't be starting

Denmark getting robbed here by the god awful English referees.

There have been two shocker VAR calls in the Euros so far. The penalty tonight and disallowing the Dutch goal against France (**** you UEFA, I don't care if you say it was correct, NO fan thinks that is interfering with play) . Both have involved English referees. Another of those strange coincidences. Sigh 🙄

Worst in Europe. Can't wait for VAR again next season, followed by Howard Webb 69ing Michael Owen to say it's all okay really and they're very sorry

And sure it all evens itself out over a season🙄. He says thinking about the disallowed goal at spurs that is pretty much without precedent. But they are going to learn from it. I mean who would have thought having procedures in place so it wasn't two mates having a chat and that they actually establish WHAT THE **** it was they were being asked to look at, would have helped?

Yeah shocking that was, Germany will get done by Spain I reckon, assuming Spain don't slip up.

I agree on Southgate, he's terrible. That said I blame the FA more. The last three England managers have been Hodgson, Alladyce and Southgate. If you had been in a coma for the last decade and someone asked which team has had these managers you would say Palace or Burnley. The FA have stopped England winning anything in the last 20 years by appointing safe managers.

One thing you can say he's the luckiest manager ever for the luck of the draw.

Dear, oh dear. That was really, really poor. I felt bad for Slovakia. It was weird, I didn't really feel like celebrating, because I was so angry for so much of the match. Southgate (and the players, to a point) have totally got away with that one. We were begging for a triple sub at half time... nothing. Then Palmer comes on (not in his best position, of course) in the 66th minute! Game carries on the same and Southgate waits until the 84th to bring on the next sub. This game was absolutely crying out for fast attacking threat e.g.Gordon, Bowen & Watkins and they were all left on the bench. Foden and Bellingham seem to be undroppable, despite stinking the place out. I know Bellingham scored a cracker, but he was really poor, and as for Foden on the left, give me strength!

It's been pretty soul destroying watching England so far, got to be the worst England team I can remember. Even Roy's team that didn't make it out of the group played better together than this lot. I think the gulf in quality between club and international football is starting to show, football is now so much about tactics and drills that these "superstars" look like lost little boys on the pitch without Pep telling them what to do. The magic just isn't there. Still, I did enjoy it when Bellingham scored, moments like that are what it's all about!

Oh and I agree about Kane, has looked pretty lethargic so far and I was also willing Southgate to sub him, but we'd probably be out now if he wasn't on the pitch yesterday.
