Sometimes it's worth taking a gamble:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/star-wars-lot-of-10-vintage-figures-/121206610570?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&nma=true&si=cDp%252BErjsPlSmTknFsM%252FiF%252F9wp24%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I had my doubts at first but when the close up pic of the Jawa appeared I thought it was worth taking a shot at it. Offered £200 for the lot and she accepted. Got it this morning and it's the real thing. :D :D :D

I've been stung so many times on ebay it's untrue, figures described as 'mint' and they arrive looking like the dog shat it out, then the cat puked it up. It's nice to 'win' occasionally! I got my Yak Face the same way - 12 figure lot, all looked completely knackered, apart from the Yak who was in the background - offered £50 and he accepted. When the parcel arrived, every single one of the figures was beyond saving apart from Yak who did not have a scratch on him - not one! :D!

Great stuff mate, cracking deal if genuine, great to see a happy story relating to the little vinyl bugger :P

Well done mate :D

I wondered where that listing disappeared to.

I asked the seller if she was interested in accepting offers and was told no.

Nevermind at least another forum member managed to buy it, so the story has a happy ending.

Sorry mate! To be fair, she refused at first. I think she'd had several offers, so I told her I was happy to wait till the auction end but if £200 would buy them now would she accept, and she did. :)

Sometimes the tactic works, sometimes not. I'm always mindful to make a sensible offer though, otherwise it's not worth them ending the auction early, it has to be a big enough cherry. I thought £200, given that I'm basing my hopes on 2 really poor quality photos was enough. The condition of some of the other figures is not great as it turns out, the weapons are original at least.

Mate no hard feelings, i've won ebay auctions in exactly the same manner in the past.

Anyway congratulations :)

Thanks mate, it not a usual occurrance, but when it does happen it feels like you've really scored! :)

That's great news mate and a good gamble that paid off :)

Thanks! Now does anyone have a spare, genuine jawa blaster with no bumps for sale or trade?

That is very satisfying, congratulations :) not sure I would of had the balls myself particularly with the current vinyl caped Jawa tsunami.

that was my first thought when I saw the auction - here we go again!

I've been watching ebay for figures pretty intensively for the past few months ever since I decided to put together a complete loose set.

The amount of VCJ's that have appeared, all from boyfriends parents lofts is amazing. :D
