There's an auction house just round the corner from me so thought we would just take a look. Last time I went in there were boxed vintage Scalextric cars, so you never know..
Walked in and saw a nice 50's glass display case containing various items. Looked further inside the case and in among the crap, what's that? ...8 mint Star Wars 12 backs!
My amazement was short lived however. Closer inspection showed them all to be fake re-cards. I even mentioned it to some bloke who was gazing at them. Must have thought I was having him on because I heard him talking about it to his mate - "some Star Wars collector said they are fake. Might be interesting"
In the end conscience got the better of me and I phoned up reception who said that people had been asking. They will now be listed as re-cards. Weird though :? This place is 5 minutes walk from me. I go in for the first time in years and there's these MOC's. What are the chances?
Apologies for the crap picture. Taken on camera phone which is rubbish :x
If anyone is wondering, the cards were obviously fake. The print colour was wrong. They were all starting to split along the layers of the card which fakes do. The footers are wrong, and they were all too flat and clean looking for items that are currently piled up inside a crappy auction house.
