Ello guys,

Raletively new here, but know a load of you guys already from various sites.Been collecting for a long time now and was just thinking about some things i have regretted selling in the past. When i think of what ive sold i just want to turn back the clock!!

Heres my first regret.A Lando Skiff proof card collection, which was the best run avilable at the time and i havent seen a similar run since. Its even got an AFA graded Pailtoy unused cardback(proof  )in there, and made it quite special. The Emperor offer Cromalin was one of a kind as i was told by Tom D.All this lot left my collection around 2005.I also sold around 24 different carded Lando Skiff variations including Tskuda etc.I focused on Lando Skiff for a good 3 years and just went through one of those times when enough was enough-GOD do i regret selling up.Its good to know that Roundster has picked up where i left off-although there is another collector in the USA who has a huge Lando skiff collection(which is where my Cromalin now resides)and a huge Lando focus in general.

The second regret is selling all my Palitoy logo collection(around 13 MOC's)in 2003.I owned a few nice pieces there-the real special ones being a 41 a back Stormtrooper(the exact one which Gary recently sold) and a 41 back Luke Xwing.

I have to agree with you Lee, I would regret selling those as well mate :(

Chances are you won't be able to get them back together again and if you could it would be double or triple what it cost you the first time.

That was (and is - at least we have that archive entry forever!) a great run, well done and sorry to hear you regret it :(

Collecting regrets!? Yeah............STARTING!

If I hadn't started I would have more bloody money in the bank that's for sure!
I've missed a few bits over the years that, in hind sight, I wish I had maybe bid a little more for, but then everything is 20:20 with hindsight. Luckily I haven't sold anything that I majorly regret, yet.

A few regerets here and there, nothing major though. The worst thing I have done is sell an AFA 90 Palitoy and on the very same day I paid for the same Palitoy card in the same condition but not yet graded. I do regret selling my loose collection, not because there hard to pick up but just because I can't be arsed with the hassle of C9's turning up at C8 or less

too many to mention, although the biggest was trading my afa 80 vlix first shot for an afa 85 potf yak face and then hating the yellow bubble so much i sold it for less than the vlix cost me and i just wish i had kept the vlix as now its too expensive to buy again

back Stormtrooper or a 45a?

Can you remember who you sold the Luke X-wing to?

I have many regrets too. Though they are usually to do with buying things that I really shouldn't have!!! :(

You could always get a glasslite one

hehe at this moment in time i couldnt even afford a custom one,
cant wairt for next 2 pay months though as then can treat myself to a nice dengar i got my eye on

I did sell of my chewie bandolier proof and cromalin. I would say it is a 50:50 wether or not i regret it as i do not have te space to show them off properly. I know where one of the peices is still and possiblethe second and woudl certainly consider buying them again if they came up for sale int he future.

"Not yet", would be my answer.
Im on the cusp of wanting to sell off a lot of non focus stuff but the head isnt 100% there yet. What is it the Butthole Surfers said:

****er :) :D

mine nothing much just a yoda i took of a card .got card for pennies cheaper then a loose would cost and will prob never get one as mint again

I dont have any regrets over any thing i have sold. Everything i have sold i have put the money into buying somthing better. The pieces i have at the moment. I would have regrets if i sold any off them

it's funny you should bring this up, i always have regrets when I sell off my boxed pal items to raise cash - but I really missed my DV TIE so I bought another one, which arrived yesterday.

A minty box but a broken TIE, so I've spent an evening with a screwdriver and spare parts (Cheers Darth Wensleydale :D ) and its now better then the one I sold :D

I sold 109 vintage carded figures in 200ish plus loads of G1 Transformers. I invested it in drink, girls, strippers and a 10k BMW which I blew up 2 years later and got 1k scrap for it.

I've sold or traded a bunch of rare things over the years that I somewhat regret but at the same time don't. I sold all of my Model Trem leads (1/3 of a set), dozens of Polish bootlegs including a black Hoth Trooper with 2/3 of a cardback, carded Polish Biker Scouts, the largest character focused bootleg collection in the hobby, modern and vintage hardcopies and/or parts, even some modern produced and unproduced sculptings. They were all moved at one time or another to finance bigger buys so I'm happy with what I got but sometimes wish I had the cash to keep it all. It does make me appreciate what I have, a LOT, when I have to sacfrifice but it would still be nice to have all that stuff I let go of.

Sounds very much like my last year mate, bar the strippers
