Just watched this for the first time since I was a kid. I must admit it's not as bad as I thought it would be, I remembered quite a lot of it but there was lots I didn't remember too. I really enjoyed watching a Star Wars film I didn't know word for word!

The main let-downs are the dodgy stop-frame animations of the creatures, I'm not quite sure how they managed to make them look so bad having done things like the Rancor and Jabba in previous films! The Ewok scenes were quite cool I thought, very similar to ROTJ. I also found the spider scenes terrifying, I wonder if this film is where my arachnophobia came from!

I reckon this is better than the prequels. Anybody else agree? Will have to watch Battle for Endor now too...

Never seen it. Is it worth watching then?

Where can I download or pick up cheap ...preferably free

They are not bad movies, definately worth a watch, some of the fx does stand out, but mostly i like them, i'm surprised lucas didn't do more stand alone movies, maybe they didn't make enough cash?.
Now disney has the franchise we will have plenty more movies to see, can't wait :D

Think i'm the same.

I've seen battle for Endor though not for probably 20 years. I remember it being kack.

You can probably find them both on youtube.

Caravan of courage is definitely the best of the two, worth a watch, very much the same adventure feel as willow and the neverending story

Something in the air then because I put this on for my 2 kids yesterday. I have to say they are pretty poor IMO and this is coming from someone who thinks episode 1 and 2 aren't that bad. :D

My kids asked for it to be switched off after 20 minutes.

The problem I've got is they both love the new trailer but I won't let them watch any of the movies as I think they are to young, so I thought I'd try them on the Ewok movies and it failed.

Tried the youngest on Clone Wars today and he fell asleep after 10 minutes.

If you love Star Wars you have to watch them once. :?

Caravan of Courage is like star wars kryptonite to kids then? Show them Return of the Jedi to repair the damage

I do wont them to watch the origional trilogy but I also wont them to remember the first time they watched it. Their only 4 and 2 and my 4 year old daughter got frightened watching Cravan of courage! I'm just hoping that Episode 7 gets a U rating but can't see it.

I copied it from VHS to DVD many years ago, think i'll have to give it a go with my two this afternoon

I bought the 2 pack dvd set with both films for like 5 few years ago.
Still havent bothered to look at them. (Have seen them in my childhood).

same here think i paid about £8 but it was worth it as you get both films on one disc :)
seen it going for silly money on ebay :( i also bought Ewoks the animated adventures at the same time :)

I like them, I have the one sheet for Caravan which I picked up really cheaply.
They have elements of them that remind me of Krull, which was of a similar period.

I can't believe that in all the years I've been a Star Wars fan, I've never seen either movie.

Yet I've seen the Holiday Special!! :?

Watching C of C now. It's kind of ok in parts. One thing i'm noticing is that other than the Ewoks there is very little link to Star Wars. The feel of the film kind of reminds me of Never Ending Story - I think someone else pointed that out as well.

The Ewoks are really freaky looking which is slightly confusing because they didn't look as weird in ROTJ. The kid with the lead role (Mace) started out as a very irritating character but he does remind you a little of Luke Skywalker and i'm warming to him a little. The little sister is quite cute and inoffensive. The second half of the film is quite good, and yes ...better than the prequels

Jesus Christ! It's up to the spiders web scene. lol  Never seen anything so ridiculous. Hilarious

Yeah it's like they had a $5 million budget for the film, and allocated 50c of it to effects. I could have done a better job of all the monster scenes with some felt, velcro and a Supa Snaps camera. Certainly spoils it a bit.

Verdict - not terrible.

Caravan of Courage could have been so much better. Lucasfilm should have just left the effects alone if there was no budget. I speak of the spiders web scene in particular here as I can't think of any worse effects in any film outside of some awful B movie.

OK so it was a budget flick made for TV which does excuse a lot. The story is ok. The characters are fairly likeable and the costumes were pretty cool and Star Warsy - Mace's flight suit was very good, like Luke Skywalker's x-wing suit. It's really just the effects that spoil things. Maybe there could have been a bit more of a nod to what was to come as well, i.e. ROTJ.

Yub nub! 8)

Yeah I don't understand how their could be 'no budget' for a spin off from three of the most successful films ever that made their writer a billionaire! All it needed was a little more effort and it could have been a decent kids film.

Remake?

Remake but with maybe only one or two Ewoks ....or none at all. Better!

I thought it needed more Biker Scouts, Speeder Bikes, Scout Walkers and space battles. Less Ewoks and 50 foot tall giants :)
