I agree that is a little strange, never thought about the horses and the birds :? but I still think the movies is great

What I think is more strange is that one of the rebels in the new rogue one trailer looks like a ninja or samurai :lol:

Yeah kung-fu in Star Wars seems strange. I was hoping it would feel really like the original trilogy but that doesn't look anything like the original trilogy. I don't want to be cynical but I am guessing an asian actor who does martial arts is so that the film sells well in China.

I don't think The Force Awakens did very well in China, at least not as well as predicted. There are a helluva lot of people in China so they probably thought that if they could potentially bring in more people to see the movie, getting an asian actor is probably quite an easy thing to do. I don't think it was a bad thing at all, but the fact that two of the new main protagonists were someone who was black and the other a woman shows that they are trying to appeal to new demographics that the old Star Wars movies didn't attempt to.

I have very fond memories of Battle for Endor though isn't a great film for this reason-

When I was about 14 (2004) I was walking around a car boot sale in Wales. Mum and Dad had found one car boot sale for every day we were up there, near Tenby as there were loooads there. Most were rubbish but I remember finding some vintage beater figures which I was chuffed at, and some gameboy games , GI joe street fighter II figures etc. So over the course of the week my money disappeared! On the Saturday we went to a relatively small boot sale and it wasn't very good. We were about to leave but I went and had one last look around and one one stall, high up on this little stand on a table was The Battle For Endor VHS. I had never seen or even heard of the Ewoks movies before, but thought it must be super rare as I had never seen it before. I asked how much it was and the guy told me £20.00. I was so disappointed knowing I didn't have any money left.
I told my parents but they weren't keen to spend 20 on a vhs but by time Mum said she would go and have a look at it with me (and perhaps have it put away for xmas for me) the stall had packed up. I was gutted.

The next day we went to a huuuge boot sale and I was so hopeful that the guy would be at the next one but I couldn't see him or his stall anywhere. Finally I did but he told me that a Star Wars collector had bought it first thing that morning and I was so miffed!

I found my Mum and walked around the car boot sale with her and my Dad went back to their camper van with my sister in her pushchair. Eventually we went back to the van and had lunch and Mum told me to get out and empty the bottom of my sisters push chair of the stuff she had bought, like some wedgewood china and stuff. At the bottom under a jumper was the battle for endor video. I was over the moon (pardon the pun!)
Mum had apparently found the seller when we arrived and told him to tell me he had sold it to some bloke!

I didn't think it was that great a movie when I watched it but that didn't matter. It was the fact Mum went and got it me (I think she ended up haggling and paying £15) and had hidden it for me to find. A few years later I met Warrick Davies and he signed my VHS for me and said it had been a while since he has seen an Ewoks video.

My vintage collection isn't very impressive but that VHS will always be a highlight!

Great story. That's what Star Wars collecting is all about for me. Good memories.

Love the VHS story, parents can be cunning buggers at times, it's why we love them!!

there was finally a copy on DVD in a CEX branch that I happened to be close to, I'm now the proud owner of this!
