Not sure option 4 is a good idea.
I have seen some real real beaters, barely even C1, busted bubble, half a card missing, front torn off, coloured in by some kid with his crayon etc, and in that circumstance I can see logic in having it graded. The card is basically ruined and gone, the bubble is held together by fairy dust and no matter how carefully it's looked after the figure is gonna be loose soon anyway. Ok maybe some people don't agree with paying to encase a loose figure, each to their own. But, in the case where a figure will be loose in the not too distant future i understand u/loose grading. Saying that I have seen a lot, far too many, cards after the figure has been U graded (i'm thinking of Ruilar on RS, in this case) where the card looks fine and I know plenty of collectors who would happily have had the formerly MOC in their collection. True, I don't know what the bubble was like on those cards, but they don't look to have been badly treated, so I don't think it's unreasonable to assume a good few were solid enough MOC's.
I guess I'm trying to say that in rare circumstances I can see why people get figures loose/u graded, but all too often I fear it's MOC's that other collectors wold be happy to have.
Saying that we've been here before. Robbie knows how most people on here feel, and we know how Robbie feels. No amount of discussion is going to change either sides opinion. But to let the thread run, please keep it civil.
