also if you get points for speeding is it right that it doesnt affect your insurance

I hate driving as I always get lost.

I only use my car to get to work and I'm never in a rush to get there so I doubt I will ever get done for speeding!!

I live just inside North Wales that is run by that knobhead Chief Constable who likes to get himself on the TV all the time with rediculous schemes. He hates motorists. When the stats came out last year his area had the highest detection of speeding and the lowest detection of Burglary. It is easier to ask who hasn't had a fine round here.

Anyway when I got three points I told my insurance company and they weren't bothered. It was like "Who hasn't, just don't get anymore."

Anyway at least I got stopped by a Police car and not some sneaky camara. I felt like I was getting my money's worth from my fine.

I was kind of lucky though as I was doing about 50 something in a 30 area and was coming back from university at the end of the term with a mate with all our stuff in my boot.

You can imagine the scene of two young scruffy types with slight scouse accents hurtling down the North Wales coast heading towards Liverpool in a knackered old Astra with a boot full of electrical equipment.

The Ã'£40 fine (as it was at the time) seems quite the let off.

I've only ever had one car. When I got rid of it I didn't know you had inform them you were not the owner anymore. I got a police caution for this when they turned up at the door one night asking did I own the car. Apprently someone left it outside a police station and it was about to be blown up by the bomb squad.

I got rid of a car and told the DVLA but still got grief over some stuff that the next owner did. It seems that the DVLA's fine issuing department is significantly better staffed and more efficient than the department that serves motorists needs. Funny that, almost as if making money was more important to them.

Don`t reply to the letter. I didn`t and got away with it.

The way I figure is they have no proof you recieved it and if they ever follow it up, just say you never got the first one and you just take the Ã'£60 & 3 points. At least you have a chance they wont`t follow up.

I got caught doing 78 in a 40. To be fair it was 5.20 am on a sunday on a road between 2 feilds so i didnt see a problem. It was only a 40 for about 100 yards because it is coming out of a town and then it goes into a national speed limit.
I coulnt understand why they didnt give me a ticket or a fine so i asked my mate who is a copper and he told me you cant be issued with a speeding fine if you are caught within 250 meters of a speed change on the road. :D

my driving career has been somewhat colourful

i wrote off my parents brand new car about a month after passing my test at 17  lesson learned, never give a new driver a decent car!

i then got banned at 18 because some **** policeman lied to me - i got pulled over for not wearing my seatbelt (which was jammed) and he also did me for having low tread on one tyre, which was a total of 6 points and Ã'£120 fine. he promised me that because both offences were given at the same time, if i took the points there and then i wouldn't lose my license (you're only allowed 6 poins in your first 2 years)
but then a week later i get a letter saying my license is invalid. i'll never trust a policeman again

i've had the worst luck with buying dodgy cars, must have gone through about 6 because of serious mechanical issues like head gaskets etc

fingers crossed, but my latest car has been ok do far though!

My mates dad managed to get banned by driving down one road!

A notorious bit of A45 between Birmingham and Coventry, managed to set off 3 cameras and already had 3 points! Twat!

I once got pulled over when the police were doing a random spot check, nowt wrong with my car but the prick cautioned me for not having any documents with me! WANKER!

I presented my documents in time but they apparently didnt pass this information on so when I renewed my license it said I had 6 points and had been fined Ã'£400 at court. :?

you would think that I would have realised if I had been summoned or not wouldnt you? and I am more than certain that the police wouldnt have let me forget about a Ã'£400 fine!

this only affected my insurance by about Ã'£30 as it apparently "driving without insurance" - useless bastards!

picked this bird up and had 2 of my mates in back
bombing down this country lane when we hit some s-bends,skidded on last one ,so we were going backwards when we hit the fence,no one was hurt we just finished parked in middle of field
then the dumb ass farmer came and charged me Ã'£20 quid for his shitty bit of fence
i was gonna get it done with out telling my parents ,but my bad luck carried on the next day when my mam asked to borrow car cause someone had broken in to theirs ,can you believe it how unlucky is that
