Is this another Americanism we have to have shoved down our throats....Every ad last night was advertising some shitty deals.
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving so why do we now have this...Rant Over

100% agreed.
I expect most of the crap is old stock they can't shift anyway.

The most annoying Americanism I find is the bloody spell check

Colour
Favourite
Realise
Organise

I could go on...........

as an American...I do not participate in this. The same **** that was in the store 6 months ago, marked up 20% with 10% off. People getting up at 3 in the morning to get a deal on a TV that the store only has 4 of in stock and 500 inbreeds waiting to get it. People acting like a pack of wolves for a 5 dollar toaster. Glad to hear you guys now have the love. Best to stay at home....then go out the next day and pay the extra money just so you can avoid all this mess.

I honestly couldn't think of anything worse than queuing up all night and then fighting over a TV - there have been loads of videos posted on FB today and they all look horrendous

Even if you are interested in the sales - just shop online. **** fighting over TV's and being stomped on when the doors open just to buy something you don't actually need because it's 50% off..

(Seen those videos too Iain - my god!)

You have not fully embraced your new country. Go forward and fight the masses. You really do need a 5 dollar t-shirt.

Mate, I am trying to embrace it - I cooked a full Turkey meal yesterday including Yams and then we had a pudding of pumkin roll and sweet potato pie

I've even started driving on the wrong side of the road just to stop people honking at me !

Don't do that! Keep driving on the correct side of the road, you teach those colonials. They'll catch on eventually. Besides, whats the worst that could happen? Lol

It was all kicking off down at Tesco in Wigan over this Black Friday crap  I find the whole thing obscene

"Our enormously productive economy demands that we make consumption our way of life, that we convert the buying and use of goods into rituals, that we seek our spiritual satisfactions, our ego satisfactions, in consumption.

The measure of social status, of social acceptance, of prestige, is now to be found in our consumptive patterns. The very meaning and significance of our lives today expressed in consumptive terms. The greater the pressures upon the individual to conform to safe and accepted social standards, the more does he tend to express his aspirations and his individuality in terms of what he wears, drives, eats, his home, his car, his pattern of food serving, his hobbies." The Zeitgeist Movement

Makes for some ****ing funny YouTube clips though

I quite enjoyed it for these alone. People being trampled and grown men fighting over **** TV sets.

You should've seen the knuckle draggers queuing outside the Marina Asda yesterday morning

That was nothing to do with Black friday. There's a fight near tesco every week in Wigan, maybe two on match day. :D
