Best 3 Bond movies?

Grew up on Bond (and the Star Wars series funnily enough).
As a kid I loved You Only Live Twice because of the "Ninjas".
Loved the snowboarding from View to a Kill.
Enjoyed The Man with the Golden Gun. Great stunt and karate girl twins!
Quantum of Sollace was much better the second time I watched it.
Craig is awesome.
I thought Dalton was a really good bond after the piss take the became Moore.
Loved the car chase in Diamonds are Forever.
Agreed, For Your Eyes Only is very good.
Such a great franchise.

Best song? The lyrics to The Man with the Golden Gun are so rude!

Good question IMO:-

1)Goldfinger
2)Goldeneye
3)Man with the Golden Gun

Also think the best opening of a Bond Film is Tomorrow Never Dies.

A bit of a Gold theme to mine. :?

Snap Jez - Grew up on both also!

Great memories settling down with the family for a Bond movie :D

Best score? OHMSS

Live and let die was first shown on tv in the UK in January 79. It still holds the highest movie rating on british TV over 24 miliion viewers!

Good question and tough choice to make

In no particular order

The Spy Who Loved me (classic 70's Bond Movie - Jaws and that Lotus 8) like the tune too

Live and Let Die (love the settings - 'down town' early 70's New Orleans, voodoo in the Caribbean, Jayne Seymour, The Man that never dies, 'Whisper', that boat chase) - seen this one the most - can't you tell

On Her Majesties Secret Service (love the ski chases, Good Villains, stunning scenery)

Honorable mention - Skyfall best 'new' Bond film by miles

Good man Paul

Another OHMSS fan

Some folk are surprised when I say it's my fave. If you can get over Lazenby (he's not that bad) its a cracker!

Great pic - he was tough and great in fight scenes

I like OHMSS and I love the ending, I was never keen on Telly Savalas as Blofield though. In fact it wasn't till years later I realised he was meant to be the same character as Donald Pleasance in the previous films!

Hard to choose 3 favourites. I grew up on Bond too but as a kid I don't remember having any favourites - they all had good bits in them somewhere. As an adult I can see the flaws in the weaker ones now. (A View To A Kill - Moore well past his sell date by this point, Tomorrow Never Dies - really dumb plot and poor villain).

My favourites:-

1. You Only Live Twice (its always cited as the weakest Connery film but as a kid it was great - ninjas and **** :D )

2. Live And Let Die (creepy voodoo stuff and a great tune. Moore's super confident without sending up the character like he kind of did later on)

3. Dr No (so many good bits including that bikini, bond getting his PPK, killing that bad guy in the room coldly 40 years before Daniel Craig)

I've also got fond memories of The Living Daylights as it was the first Bond movie I saw at the cinema :)

i thought dalton should of had more a run as bond shame he was given licence to kill as his last film one of the poorer bond films imo

Dolton was a flop for me, whoever play's Bond makes Bond IMO. Don't like new one's either not proper Bond films for me.

I liked Dalton, as Bond. In fact I preferred him to Pierce Brosnan. Licence To Kill wasn't a great film, a good idea though (Bond goes bad etc) but it looks as dated as some of the early 80's ones now.

Dalton was still signed up to do another Bond as far in as 1994 but packed it in the year before Goldeneye came out. Think he was sick of the length of time the legal battles between MGM and the Broccolli's had taken.

i think craig is the worst bond good actor but theyve made recent bond films too serious imo. theyve lost the cheeky fun

I know what you mean, I liked Casino Royale for the reason that it was dry and dark (the Brosnan ones were getting really silly, even for Bond). But 3 films in I can't see DC playing him any other way :| . Unfortunately they've kinda got locked into that Bourne formula now. We'll see how the next one goes but a change of actor will probably be on the cards after it.

Christian Bale or Michael Fassbender would be really good but I don't think they'd go for it. They might go for somebody younger again, i suppose it depends who's on the scene in a couple of years. Not actually sure what they do with the franchise now, it does feel like everything's been done in terms of car chases, gun fights etc. :|

I liked Casino Royale. and Craig. Only criticism was they feel like the Bourne movies more than Bond.

Bond used to set the standards but now seems to follow trends.

Funnily the release and success of Star Wars saw them jump right into making Moonraker - that was the start of following trends

Not expecting much support on these choices but these are my absolute favourites.

Live and Let Die
View to a Kill (just for walken, I love it)
Casino Royal (it's a close call between this and Skyfall)

Let's be honest up you've chosen a view to a kill because you've always had the horn for Grace Jones.

My top three are

1. Gold finger - such an iconic film, Connery as Bond, the laser, pure class
2. Man with the golden gun - favourite as a kid, love Christopher Lee and I sometime draw a third nipple on myself.
3. Toss up between For your eyes only and Dr No.

Love the bond films, think they've all been good. Roger Moore fighting though was laughable at times.

Looking at View To A Kill on paper its a nuts - Grace Jones, Duran Duran, a Renault 11 and a man who's about 110!!

Man With The Golden Gun was a good one, Christopher Lee is awesome (and Britt Ekland in a bikini!)

I still like AVTAK - but at times its like a carry on film yak yak yak

I've been collecting the James Bond car collection - that's the ones that were in the news agents a few years back - they are bloody brill. Will need to post pics at some point
