Now I know that the Palitoy 12 back Jawa has been pretty hot lately and isn't easy to find unpunched but come on :!: :?
I could almost understand if it was an AFA 90 because that maybe the only one but it isn't even an 85  Maybe the seller got excited by the 90 sub on the bubble

Have bought a lot off this seller who is well known on the FB forums in particular. He's a top bloke with his finger massively on the pulse of vintage SW collecting who I'm sure would work with people if they wanted the piece.

He's allowed me to pay for many items on payment plans. This piece is too far out of my price range but if there were others who wanted it I'm sure he'd be as flexible with you as he has been with me.

Well there it is, Face Book :!: That explains this fantastic asking price :!: :!:
Don't get me wrong, it is good to know this person is decent in that he is helpful to buyers with payment plans and flexibility etc but his initial asking price will not b appreciated by any vintage collectors with the knowledge and experience as opposed to many on Face Book who frankly don't know any better and that is a fact my friend :!:

Therefore this seller is either someone who doesn't know any better and has been caught up in all the hype on Face Book or he is trying to take full advantage of those that don't know :!: However he isn't doing anything illegal so I guess it is up to people to do their home work.

Definitely a rare figure but 3.5k !

Don't even consider it that rare, when I was after 12/20 a few years back a Jawa wasn't difficult to come by. I guess the fact one hasn't been available either on ebay, or Vectis (I could be wrong here) folk can change their arm and ask to some degree what they like....

 I like it.

To b totally fair this particular Jawa can b considered tough to find because he is unpunched but as Lee says in general the 12 back Jawa is not considered one of the tough 12 backs.

Think I sold my afa80 for around 1k.

There's a huge amount of Jawa focus collectors - and for us chaps crazy about the little brown chaps this has been the cheaper of the foreign variants.

They don't often come up for sale on ebay and such but change hands more frequently amongst collectors I know.

As for rarity in the Palitoy collecting world, well I have no real idea but plenty here do.

£3.5k seems frickin insane to me.

Well I'm hoping to complete my 21 back run with a nice Pali Jawa, although I think the chances of me getting one underneath 2k are v slim so will settle for a nice Kenner one- when I can afford one lol.

Just had a look on Vectis, this looks like it's definitely the 80/90/85 one that sold in December for £1400 (1750 with fees), so being flipped for double. Nice :(

There's an ungraded one that went for the same £1400 in May 2015, and a straight 85s one that went for just £680 (850) back in April 2014! That's a mental increase. In just 2 years someone wants more than 3x the amount for an 80 that an 85 went for!

Oh and there's a Vinyl Cape Palitoy back in 2013 that went for £8500 (10,625). Several more ungraded cloth ones going back to 2006 within the £300-£500 range.

The price is so high as this is one that really hasn't come up for sale that often recently, it would have been easier to get a 12 back Palitoy Luke but the asking price is way to high. Maybe with this grade in todays market 2K would be the top end but it seems a shame this was bought just to flip (again  ). It sure was a lot of money to shell out on something just to flip as it may struggle to achieve what was paid for it once the sellers fees are taken out and can't people just let collectors buy this stuff for once instead of always looking to make money off of people.

Another reason I find myself becoming more distant from collecting Star Wars and also this seems to be happening with other toy lines and not just vintage. I really don't think it's making the world a better place as it just feels like everyone's trying to have one over on each other.

Happy days!
