Apologies to some of you guys

Hey, welcome back Ed. Great to hear from you.
Nice to see your (some of your) collection on display.
:D

Hey Ed,

I NEVER look into the Off Topics, now I do and find this sad thread of yours and it was only minutes ago that I have read through the whole story. What a rollercoaster ride from your first post to the last ones. I can only second what all the guys said. The hardest thing in my life was parting with the mother of my son. It took about 2 years for me to fully accept it was really over THIS time (we parted 2 times before). Even when I dated another girl (she was TOTALLY nuts but that's another story) I still phoned her every day, just talking to her in hopes we'll get together again. 7 years and 5 girlfriends (+ countless 'other' girls ;)) later finally I have found a girl who accepts me the way I am, who doesn't want to change me a bit (which always was the trouble before) and who even allows me to display as much vintage SW in the living room as I want ).

And soon you will find a woman who accepts your Jawa bed sheets. Just kidding. But some day you will find HER for sure. Until then do what you are already doing, enjoy your single life before you get real close to another woman. And btw, being single REALLY ain't that bad, once you have accepted the loss and are able to look forward, actually it can be quite fun as you can do the **** whatever you like to do. Which is something that often doesn't work out in a relationship. ;)

But it's great and amazing to see how fast you were able to enjoy your single life though, that NEVER worked for me, which is definitely one of my flaws. When my relationships ended I was in despair for months or a year and I didn't want to talk to anybody then. Even though logically this makes no sense of course, but that's just me. And good for you that are different. :)

One question, you said you want a full "heroes" run, what is that? I don't think you're talking about the Heroes TV Show?

And btw, I didn't know you were into Indiana Jones as well. I once bought 2 carded Indiana Jones figures for 8$ each at a vintage toy fair in the US. When I was short on money I sold both online and I still regret this day I decided to part with them sooo much... It was the Cairo Swordsman (I think that's his name, not 100% sure though) and Indiana Jones in German Uniform. The last one went for 180 Euros I think... :( One day I will want one again. And I also had the "Well of Souls" playset. If I remember correctly even with all the parts still in baggies. I can't remember selling it, but it's nowhere to be found... :( This was bought at the same toy fair and at this very toy fair a carded R2D2 was sold RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES for 2$. Oh, did I mention it was a 12 back??? :( The card was beaten up real bad, but I would have bought it anyways... Btw, all of these bargains were bought/seen about 15 years ago.

Did you see my photo art limelight, Ed? I have to admit that I have bought a 8x10 photo recently (it will not arrive here before mid July) which shows a Jawa - among other figures. When I bought it I HONESTLY felt guilty though, if that helps. :D Should you want to have a print of it, I will get you one, but it will take me some time. I have not seen it in person yet, but I was told that many of the figures are first shots, here's a sneak for you:

Jesus Gary that's a sad sight!

Not wrong there, wow, I never really thought of Vintage being a good way to decorate a room but when you look at those pics I know which version I like better! Hope things get back on track for both of you guys soon Ed and Gary!

Sorry to hear this Ed! Have been there my self mate! when you are at your lowest the only way is up! It's a bit of a cliche but is so true

Missed the action on this thread, thanks for the words Dennis. I wrote this aimed at several guys, one of which was you as we were in a photo art pm exchange when things went tits up.
Im in total awe of your latest pick up dude, really great work, what a lovely mash up of early and late figures. The Jawa looks really funky!!! Could you post a close up of the little bastard?!

I love the Indy line, I traded a chunk of my collection for an afa ledy Jawa. I have since managed to re assemble a loose run, as well as some great carded stuff. My favourite being a minty Arabian Horse MOC, which is a really tough one to find. Amazingly mine has a clear bubble too, which is impossible to find. When I get settled I will do an Indy limelight for you mate.

Gary, dude that's quite a contrast. I've actually gone the other way and now I have a lot more of my collection on show! That's one of the great things about being single- I can have whatever I want on my walls now, without having to check with anyone else  I hope your walls will once again be plastered with red and blue logos ;)

I keep saying it, but it seems to sum the situation up perfectly- it's one hell of a culture shock. One day I will get my own place again, now I'm on my own I may even buy a piece of property that needs modernising. I narrowly missed the boat on a bargain just round the corner- two bed flat, shop, workshop, office, garage. It needs a new roof, windows, doors and totally redecorating but it sold for under £60k. Even with a 30k spend (which would be more than enough) it would have been a cheap lump of property. Plenty of time to decide though!

My hero run will consist of my favourite SW characters on certain cards. I started it a few years back, and have recently added three new mocs. The centre piece will be a 12 back Luke, which is a figure I have always wanted to own. When I get my room sorted i will post some pictures :)

Although your heart might be aching, it seems from a collectors point of view - you have just entered heaven

Enjoy it Ed, you deserve a nice run of relaxation and fun...oh and plenty of toys :D

I thought I'd already offered my commiserations Ed - it appears I never got round to it

Glad you're on the up, but turning to fellow collectors instead of ladies is a bit extreme

A collection room is a great start in any case.

Gary - get those MOCs back on the wall

Hey chaps! So.... I think I may have burned out when it comes to collecting Star Wars stuff :?
Work has been so heavy of late (I have had a big shake up with Heath and Safety which is a ****ing nightmare) My personal life has been a rollercoaster and I feel tired! Oh and throw in a grail piece coming up for sale, and my realisation I stand pretty much zero chance of winning it... and I need a break!

I think I am going to take a few weeks out of forum life. I haven't posted much over the last few weeks, and truth be told, I haven't really missed it all that much. I feel bad as once again I have a huge amount of pms and emails to respond too- so once again, sorry to all you guys who have been messaging me. I am a rubbish pen friend

Catch you later chaps, MTFBWY

Hey Edd!

Sorry to hear this!

Take as long as you ike out of it mate and come back when you feel ready. We will always be here!

Hope to see you on the boards soon! :)

Take your time Ed, we're not going anywhere.
See you back again soon...

I hope
