Any carpenters or window makers here?

One of our windows needs repairing, but I can't for the life of me find a piece of wood to replace the rotten piece. I have narrowed it down to "glass bead moulding" but can't find it in this size, which is roughly 40x30mm. I also don't need 2 metres of it which seems to be the only length anywhere sells :D but I'll take that if I can find the right size. Any advice please?

Take a section of existing to your local wickes/ B&Q or local wood suppliers and see what they have hopefully we have some DIY experts that can help you further Edd

Thanks, Wickes do sell one in the same rounded style but it's half the depth I need unfortunately

No haven't got round to it yet, still hoping to find the wood rather than pay a professional as it will be about £2 vs £100+ :D

Have you considered plastic quadrant?
My local window fitters have many sizes of quadrant that you could replace all the wood around the window for about £5.00 for a 5 meter length.
With the added bonus in that it wouldn't rot or need painting ever again.

Good suggestion but the house is listed so anything has to be replaced like for like or planning permission is required (and likely declined)

I doubt anyone would ever notice as the quadrant that I've been using for a similar job looks like wood from a distance.
But appreciate your reluctance to use plastic.
I suspect it could also be painted and then no one would be able to tell.
