im gonna miss the day when you cant go into a shop and browse the latest albums or back catalogues of artists mind you hmv have always been expensive but i spent many an hour there in my teens buying and listening too stuff

Yeah I agree Ponch, it's bloody sad. Whole different way of doing things these days and it seems some business's futures are looking pretty grim. We seem to be loosing an iconic business over here almost every month at the moment, we had a legendary music shop called Billy Hyde close down a few months back. They'd been around since the 60's but cheap imports available online are killing retailers stone cold.

I know it progress and the next generation won't know any different but as you said the joy of spending your youth hanging out at shops listening to tunes or drooling over stuff you can't afford will be a distant memory.

An old shopping strip near where I used to live currently has about a 30% vacancy rate people just cant afford to pay rent, wages, taxes and everything else that goes with running a shop and still compete with online sales.
