Really interesting song choice for a star wars trailer. It fits really well and gives it a cool feel don't get me wrong but also sort of brings me out-of-universe, breaking my suspension of disbelief or whatever. I agree it is a bit odd not to have many alien characters, I hadn't even noticed at first. Really excited for this though, season 1 was absolutely brilliant.
I agree, the lack of aliens was my only slight niggle, but maybe it just depends where you are in the universe. Some planets could be more human based. Completely feasible that certain planets are dominated by certain species.

yeah that makes sense as an in-universe answer. We see a lot of planets/places (especially in the prequel era) that are predominantly made up of one species of alien, like Gungan City, planets like Rhyloth and Shili, even with the Ewoks on the Endor moon and stuff it's not a massive leap to think there are some predominantly human places. I know from the Thrawn books that the Empire is pretty human-dominant so that makes perfect sense for them. I wonder what the real-world reason was? Disney's been getting some flack for their prosthetic designs and stuff but that hasn't stopped them with any of the other shows and I thought Neel was very good in SC. It's an interesting thing to think about!

I would say Coruscant under the Empire would not be an 'alien friendly' place at all. Many stories have included Imperial anti-alien views, a large part of the Thrawn backstory looks at how an alien can survive and thrive in an institution that hates him from not being human. Thrawn aside, there is not a single alien serving anywhere in the Imperial army (that I can remember) so it stands to reason they would not be welcome on the Imperial Home World so would explain their absence here. Or that's a load of rubbish and it was a purely production budget thing, less makeup, and SFX etc. Who knows...

That'd be a cool plot, maybe we'll get an in-story explanation. For me, Star Wars stories are at their best when they're referencing/inspired by real-world history/politics, it's what made the first season of Andor so good. Obviously Lucas talks about being inspired by the British Empire and America during the Vietnam War when he created the Empire but it definitely evokes some images of Nazi Germany, (especially during the fall of the republic in RoTS) so segregation/race purity could very well be a plot point they explore but tbh I doubt they'll go very deep into that topic. Even in the Thrawn books, where it's really relevant, they focus on the individual impact of the Empire's attitude on Thrawn and his career not on the wider societal implications (If I'm remembering correctly it's been a while since I read Zahn's trilogy). Like you said, it might be a just budget thing and I'm overthinking it lol. I do feel like whatever the Empire's views are, as an audience, we've seen Coruscant several times and know that theres a lot of aliens there, I'd find it hard to belive that the Empire would be capable of getting rid of them all and even if they could, eliminating such a large part of the population would surely damage the socio-economics on the planet. It could be possible they enforce laws to restrict non-humans to lower levels of the planet... okay now I'm definatly overthinking this, sorry for the tangent lol

Can't wait for Season 2, Andor is by far the best Star Wars TV series, love it...... but I've avoided the trailer, in fact I've avoided all trailers since 1999 
Well, what a great first 3 episodes. The production values of S1 were very high, but this is another level. Each episode felt movie quality. The writing and attention to detail is phenomenal. It feels so new and different for SW, yet is soooo SW at the same time.

Agreed, although I've only watched episode 1. Exciting weekend with 2 more episode and ROTS to watch at the cinema!!!

It's fantastic! A little bit of a slow burn, but fantastic writing, production values etc. Feels quite different for SW, as it's more character driven and 'mature' than what's preceded it.
