3 legged r2d2

hi guys,
am i right in thinking the 3 leg r2 was only released as part of the droid factory?
does anyone have an example of one please, incase i see one at a car boot :mrgreen:

Right click, open image in new tab - use the url. I think you can also just copy the image url direct from the right click options but I am a tab maniac.

It was only available with the droid factory set though you can buy them on their own on ebay these days.
Or make your own as i did.

I bought a few here and there about a year back. They are from the droid factory set. Got some off ebay and a forum member sent me another. I just always thought this is the way those droids should have looked. The removable 3rd leg would have been a nice addition/accessory to R2 for a later (trilogo/POTF) release. Having already released the droids factory R2 it just seems an obvious choice but it never happened. Shame cos these droid legs don't quite fit i had to saw the tops off. Plus the angle is ever so slightly off as you can see in the pic. You can't quite get all 3 legs/feet to stand flat on the ground. Still look effing awesome tho. 8)

It doesn't give me any of those option for some reason, I think the seller may also be a member here because if I use your original link I cant even enlarge the image. If I try copying the image it just says Javascriped when I paste.

You can often pick them up on ebay for a few quid. Or look out for loose bits from the droid factory. I may have a spare one somewhere but i can't think where i might have put it. If i find it i'll let you know.

Another option is to by an incomplete droids factory and sell the parts you don't want. Vintage City has one for sale, I think for $40 on RS. So if you don't mind all the messing around you could probably sell the parts and make the R2 for free. The sticker is a bit yellow though.
