One weekend in the summer of 1985, I got a sudden motivation to be creative. I took all of my Star Wars toys and headed outside. It was a bright, sunny morning and I was ready to go to work. My plan was to set up scenes from Return of the Jedi using my action figures and ships. Off I went. The first scene was of course, Darth Vader's arrival on the Death Star. Using my front porch, I grabbed all of the Stormtroopers, Biker Scouts, and Tie Pilots I could round up so Darth had a grand entrance when exiting off the Imperial Shuttle. I spent the whole day making up scenes throughout the movie. From the Sarlacc scene on Tatooine (using a piece of wood and paint stirring sticks for the skiff) to the final battle on Endor (using bricks to make the bunker). This was by far one of the most enjoyable childhood Star Wars experiences I can remember. Using a trusty 35mm camera I borrowed from Mom, I felt like George Lucas creating something spectacular. Of all my collectibles I have, these photographs are by far my most cherished items.

The Sarlacc Pit ist my favourite. I made mine froma an old sheet.
 
Jason, i love this thread! Great collection mate wonderfully displayed, but your photos and images simply crack me up. They are so cool. Great stuff dude. Thanks for sharing.

I spent a little time updating this Droid Sale pic. I've never been happy with the background and I've learned a few new tricks in Photoshop to help with the shadows to make it look a bit more natural. I think I'm happy with it for now, but I'm sure the more I knit pick it I'll find something else.

Looks like we have another proper enthusiastic collector in our midst Jason, really enjoyed your post with all the background, some of those pictures are brilliant, loved seeing them, pleasure to see some of the childhood adventures, really nice to see some childhood figures as well, wish I had some of mine.

Back in 1986 I had a spark of creativity and decided I wanted to write my own Star Wars book. I grabbed an old spiral notebook my Dad gave me and began to put pen to paper and write, "The Jedi Quizbook". The previous summer, I had taken a few pictures of my figures, so I knew I had add them to the book. I posted these pictures in this thread a few days ago, but decided to share the entire 40 page book. I made a little video that is just over 5 minutes long in order to share it. There is plenty of trivia, photos and drawings. I'm sure you will catch some mistakes and misspellings, but to an 11 year old boy it was quite an accomplishment. :)
You will also learn of one of the greatest men in Star Wars that never actually existed (except in my mind of course). See if you can catch it.

My newest acquisition is a complete with box Dagobah Playset. I got this one of Ebay and much to my surprise, included 2 sealed parts baggies (one of which is the crates and cylinder). It also has the insert and for some reason 2 instruction manuals. The only negative is the foam is mostly disintegrated. I was planning on setting it up, but no way I'm gonna open up those sealed baggies. :) Very excited about this one.

Does anybody on the planet have a non disintegrated foam?
I'm not sure it's possible due to the material but if somebody froze one or stored in a cool room back in the day I suppose some may exist? I would love to see an undamaged example.

Wow that is a beautiful collection you have, I also love your movie pictures with the vintage toy and a few custom made figures 8)

The childhood pictures is also fantastic, cool to see pictures from your childhood with star wars :wink:

Hey Paul,

I don't think there are many original foam products left. There is a guy in one of the Facebook groups I'm in that tracked down the original trash compactor foam for the Kenner Death Star. Apparently it was in an airtight container for many years and looks virtually brand new. He has opened it up for display, so will be interesting to see if it deteriorates quickly or not.

Thanks for the great compliment man, I really appreciate it. Star Wars brings back all my great childhood memories.
