I can trim it down and resize it a bit but no way it's gonna fit into the space currently there. Shrunk down to fit in there it just wouldn't look right.

Hey guys, just seen this thread. Nice logo's and maybe I'll give it a go if not too late. I was actually looking at re-designing the logo about a week ago before seeing this thread, lol. ~:D Xx

Cool that should be fine. I'm happy to make the space at the top a bit deeper, just don't want to make it too deep.

My only concern is it doesn't fit the current colour scheme and the grey and black background shading doesn't quite go with the black background of the logo. Not much i can do about that with this design tho.

I wouldn't worry about that at the moment Pete, I am sure this will be like the tshirts, we can go for one design and tweak the colours etc once we have made that decision. Also we don't want an orange overkill so maybe no orange will work well.

As i said, i can't change the colours of the design. It is as it is. I can tweak elements of the design but the Orange/Yellow part can't be changed.

As long as you have the file at a large enough size you can do this by isolating any component of the logo design 'replace Colour' and Hue/Saturation' options in Photoshop. So don't worry about that.

There are some really cool designs here

I didn't design that gold yellow Star Wars logo part. It's taken from an existing image. So the colour can't be changed. There's no way the colour of this part if the logo can be changed not without a really expert designer redoing the whole thing. I wouldn't even know where to start with that.
It would be far less hassle to just change the current colour of the forum buttons.

Don't want to take anything away from Pete and all the hardwork he's put into his banner so far - which is cracking by the way, but It can be done if need be.

As he mentioned though you can also just change the colour of the buttons which would also solve the problem

Yeah but they look awful PS (no offence  ). I know i can just fuzzy select and fill in with any colour but it won't look good i tried it. It goes all grainy and just looks generally very rough To get a clean neat look you need to start from scratch.

No offence taken mate. These were all done at very low-res and mad colours to show what can be done, so far as changing it.
This is at a higher size it retains the detail and vibrancy of the original. But maybe its best to just change the buttons though :D :D

Ah, yeah, ok, that makes sense. Cos they all looked really grainy in the post.
Maybe i was approaching it wrong. I can probably find another way to colour the logo element doing it the way you suggested. Tho i still don't think it'll look that good if it's more orange like the forums buttons.

I tried silhouetting the original figures for my banner design as suggested but they just looked too vague and nondescript at that size. Didn't really add anything. The original one looked better.
But i thought i'd do a 'reall-ilfe' full colour version using the first 12 Kenner figs. This was a pain in the arse but at least it incorporates vintage figures.
