Just back from Deadpool and Wolverine, fun packed, fantastic laugh. Very well done fanboy film imo, although I'm not a comic over geek, so they may have butchered something, but if you've enjoyed marvel cartoons and live action from the last 30 years you'll have a blast.

I caught it last night and I had a proper laugh through the film. Really enjoyed it, but I am also not a comic over geek, so I won't have been put out by anything that may have been butchered either. Worth a watch, definitely 😁

Watched Twisters yesterday. Was fun enough, good SFX etc, decent cast. Not much story and very predictable. Ok overall.
Saw Alien - Romulus today.
I didn't have great expectations (that's another great film!🙄) but quite enjoyed it, especially the first 2/3rds.
Lots of nods back to the original first two movies, but essentially the same old format…abandoned space ship/station visited by a group of people and everyone dies with a few exceptions.
I would recommend this if you're an Alien fan of the early films and I will certainly re-watch when it comes out on a streaming service.
4**** out of 5.

PS: my first cinema visit since Covid!

Also saw this recently, killed two hours and was well produced. My aliens loving mate said there were multiple nods to some of the games, as well as the more obvious ones to the original two movies.
7/10 for me I'd say, as Nick says it's the same formula, but when the formula works why not.

Watched it today. Liked lots of it- it looked great! The interiors and exteriors were fantastic, practical effects were superb etc. Liked the two lead actors. The last few minutes were pretty disturbing lol! I didn't like the cgi cameo- just not good enough and kept throwing me out of the film. Some big plot holes and thought there were too many on the nose nods to what has come before. They overdid it a touch.

Enjoyed overall- 6 out of 10. Ranks below Alien, Aliens, Promethius and Alien 3, for me.

I haven't seen the new one, but I thought Prometheus suffered from far far too many characters and whilst visually superb, the plot was pretty poor. Alien 3 was just a massive disappointment but then it was following up Alien and Aliens, two very different but superb films.

I assume the new one is fine for me to take kids to? They are 5 and 3 so old enough I reckon.

Lol! My 18 year old said he felt physically sick at the end!

Ok, I have just spent 2 hours of my life, that I won't get back, watching "Fall Guy".

I didn't really know what to expect, but thought it would be on the lines of the "cult" (well in my opinion anyway) tv show and I suppose it was to a degree.
The best bits were once the film had finished and the credits rolled where they showed you the stunts being filmed, except for the wheeling out of Lee Majors and Heather Thomas…I would rather have remembered her as she was back then rather than a face full of plastic that she is now. 😔
Honestly, don't bother, and I'm was a fan of the show, unless you want to just dribble for 2 hours watching utter crap.

Remember everyone, this is my view…🤔

That's a shame- have heard it's fun, but dumb.

Watched ROTS in the cinema last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some awful script/acting moments (Palps vs the Jedi should've been amazing, but it's so terrible!) and questionable cgi (clones with helmets off that really throws you out of the film), but that last 30 mins really does pay off.

Off to see R1 tonight...

Don't get me wrong it wasn't for me…fun but dumb could be a way of summing it up….but unfortunately that's not what I look for in a film, hence why I didn't enjoy it.

Enjoy R1, one of my favourite SW films

The Menu. I don't know if it's trying to be too clever, or if it is just too clever for me, but whilst it didn't drag as such, it's definitely 1 hour 45 I'm unlikely to get back

Maybe actually a mash up of the dinner scene in 'Clue' and 'Battle Royale', plus the nuanced plot of naked gun meets red dragon.

Loved Gladiator 2, solid 9/10 for me. Yes Otto is good as well, watched it a couple months ago. Paddington 3 was a bit same, same.

watched the latest Venom installment a couple of weeks ago & it was not great to say the least, entertaining ? somewhat but it & the 2nd one were IMO a pale comparison to the 1st as it is with so many sequels, also took in the latest Alien film Romulus, which again was a bit week IMO, better than some of the previous offerings, but seems they will never get that feel of the 1st 2 films.

I need to get the 2nd installment of Dune watched but think I need to go back & rewatch the 1st one before I do & refresh my little grey cells

This feels more like a confession than a review. I just watched Casino for the first time, so somewhat late to the party. (Understatement)
It was decent, and representative of the genre, but I'd say Goodfellas is better imo

Yeah, I agree. It's good, but not quite up to Goodfellas.
