I just got the despecialized Harmy versions. Haven't watched them yet, but have scanned through many scenes that were later messed about with. Basically, they are the absolute nuts. The space battle in ANH looks so much better without all the CGI intersplicing the original shots.

I've been watching the Silver Screen Edition done by Team Negative 1....it's based on the original 1977 35mm print and so far is really nice.

A quick search in the right place and you'll find it....be warned though.....it's a 21GB file!

1080p resolution :D

Fantastic isn't it! I love the fact the film grain is still visible, but then I'm weird like that.

Couldn't agree more mate - watching it damn near brought tears to my eyes, total nostalgia hit!
After watching it you couldn't pay me enough money to sit through the SE version again

Brought back memories of sitting in my local cinema in 77 for the first time. Can't wait for them to sort Empire and Jedi.

THE PROPER ENDING TO JEDI WILL BE SEEN AGAIN!

Yep, I'm really looking forward to those too. In the meantime Harmy's just released the Despecialised ROTJ 2.5 which'll more than do :)

The Pan pipes song at the end of ROTJ is an abomination, seriously what was he thinking? The special editions need to be binned. So much of the magic is lost on those reissues. The dodgy new sound effects really jar, we watched ANH special edition at Christmas, the Ben/ Sand People noise is comical. And as for the Jabba bit? I hope Disney reissue the originals again soon.
