This is something that's always bothered me. Considering how strict Lucasfilm was with getting things right or correct (blue Snaggletooth changed, Death squad commander name changed to the less offensive Star destroyer commander) how did they let this continue?
And the fact that Bens saber is yellow on the card photo confirms to me that Luke was meant to have the blue saber, and somehow a cock up occurred that was never corrected.
Anyway, lecture over. Time to get back to work.
