i am looking for bagged plastic toy soldiers from the 1970's / 1980's to add to what i already have , any of you chaps got any ??

Hi,

I'm currently collecting 1:72 / HO scale Napoleonic soldiers of any brand - particularly French infantry in a marching or walking pose. I'm willing to buy or trade for spare soldiers from my collection. I have Britains Deetail and various other types.

Thanks,

Craig.

Hi mate

I have over 600 1.72 loose soldiers

Japenese
British infantry,
Russians,

Also have 4 unopened boxes of Waterloo British cav, ( bought to many)

Aldo have some other stuff but would need to have a look,
If I have any French Waterloo will let you know this evening Craig.

Hi guys, sorry to hijack the thread Slim but I just clocked it and have a quick question. Not up on scale of these things but when I was a kid I had these really cool little tiny plastic soldiers that were about 15ish - 20mm tall? Anyone know what scale that would be? I want to try and find some, I think they were some sort of U.S soldiers in pale green plastic. I used to paint them and Id love to find a box. Cheers in advance

Hi mate they sound like 1.72 loads on eBay or model shops even Hobbycraft sell them :) have some spares which I would be happy to sell on if any interest.

It's great hearing such love for model soldiers. There were only three companies when I was a kid – Airfix, Matchbox and Atlantic and I had pretty much every set. Also Britains Deetail. The amount of different soldiers available today is just mind blowing.

A great website is http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Manufacturers.aspx

I uncovered my old collection of soldiers while packing for my house move and I got fired up about creating a Battle of Waterloo diorama. I started off by adding to my Airfix selection but now I've been seduced by other brands.

I'm always happy to trade if I have spare items that people need - from lots of different brands and eras. If anyone wants bases for horses, I have tons, as I tend not to use bases for my dioramas.

What is everyone's collecting focus? I'm currently hoarding Napoleonic French.
