wrong invoice ?

Have a look at this link. He has offered you the lowest price possible - there is not even any tracking on this service so he is taking a chance there

Thanks, but for me it has not much to do about the price. If he has just been writing £24 in the invoice then I would have loved to pay. I am talking about rules and what is right and wrong. If I was the seller and did the same as he did. Then the buyer could destroy my ebay feedback with negative feedback, because he followed the rules and I did not.

So should I be the nice guy and give him the money or tell him he must pay for his error ? If I pay have he then learned anything ?

Why should I always be the nice guy ? I always pay for my mistake and now I also have to pay for others mistakes is that right ?

I am only trying to find out about what is right and what is wrong. I do not make the rules. Ebay does, because he used ebay.

I thought maybe I could help the guy a little bit, to maybe tell him send the items in 2 packets if that is cheaper or something like that. But I do not know if it is cheaper. I do not know anything about uk postage.

As Frank says, he always pay for his errors and I also always pay for my errors. Why should he also not pay for his ?

So i take it you messaged him before you placed a bid, explaining that you live in Denmark and asked him to check the postage costs in advance?

The items are goods plus P+P.

If you think this excessive, your are not obliged to pay for it. Simply leave the transaction.

If the seller overcharged you by £££ you would expect a refund. I think this door swings both ways and not a 'got ya' moment.

People make mistakes. I would not advice to punish. It ends up with the '**** you buddy' society that we have today.

I'd say take it or leave it. There's always more.

For '**** you buddy society' check out the game invented by John Nash (beautiful mind) which was utilised by western governments from the 1970's to desocialise the people and individualise them with only personal interests. That's where we get the 'have you ever been hurt in an accident and want to **** people over- court room world that we live in now and not the street party and fait days that preceded our generations.

Basically I would say: Be nice.

This essay has been brought to you by someone who should lay off the coffee on late shifts.

All my love,
Best wishes,

Oh, the postage was only £9 more?
I'd pay that for a package of 3.6kgs, that's not the end of the world, I thought it was substantially more..

No I bid and won the auctions, he then mailed me the the combined invoice and told me it was £15 because I lived in Denmark and I paid.

So what do you think, should I be the good guy and pay him the extra money ?

I'd say so mate.

I've been in the same situation before; I don't sell much on ebay, i listed something (i was convinced that i only had it listed as postage to the UK), someone won it, when i checked the winners address he lived in Ukraine!
I think he expected that the postage would be the same.
I had to check the dimensions etc on line and get back to him.
If the seller doesn't have much experience selling/posting to different countries, he was probably just giving you his best guess.

If i was the seller and you had spent over £50 on stuff, i'd probably put it down to bad luck, but otherwise it's not in his interests to sell.

As a buyer, I just think it's common courtesy to check/ask before hand.

Thanks guys, then I pay him the extra £, hope a buyer will do the same to me someday and not leave me bad feedback on ebay. When I make a mistake :)

Hi Jez, I have spent over £50 on the stuff and he knew I was living in denmark before he mailed me the invoice. There was a message from him in the invoice about he was sorry about that I should pay £15 but it was because I lived in Denmark. 2 days later he wanted me to to pay £9 more.

Lars i'd treat this as a learning curve mate for both you and the seller!
The seller should educate himself with costs etc, and the buyer likewise before bidding.

Asking for fellow members for their opinion , you will always get varried answers! whether you agree its up to you
i have been looking at items in Canada and the first thing i did was ask how much for postage to the uk and to ensure the package is marked as gift.
I dont think either of you are the bad guy. If you really want the items Lars id just pay the 9 quid and as i said treat it as a learning curve!

Hi CRAZYHAZY and Jez, I think you are right.

I will tell seller, he has something to learn about postage and I was nice to him. But if I was a bad guy, then I could have destroyed his ebay feedback with negative feedback and ebay could not have helped him. Not all guys are that nice on ebay. I think a lot will just have hit him with negative feedback.

Nice to know I am doing the right thing.

Jez I did not know there was star wars collectors in Ukraine. So what did happen with that deal ?

I have more things in my life than Star Wars

My mistake, it was Estonia not Ukraine, whoops!

I sold him a full set of BoomWhackers. Very very light, but bulky.

The postage cost 3 times the cost of the item.
I ended up posting it to "A Friend of his" in London, who was going to forward it on, (i'm not sure how that would have worked, as i only charged him the cheapest rate)
I never heard back and i didn't get any feedback
