So I guessing I'm not the only person that has had a dreadful excuse used from a buyer for wanting to return an item...

My examples are:
Jawa MOC return reason - You can't see all of the Jawa's eyes because the cloak is covering them.
Superman Codex skull return reason - Is was meant to be a gift... but sadly, they have now died!
TMNT MOC return reason - It was actually the purple one I needed.

I've saved the best one for last:
UK Seller and UK buyer.
Buyer - I'd like to return a He-Man MOC because I found it £15 cheaper online in America...
Me - Accept the return with a note: Did you factor in the postage and import charges?
Buyer - I have decided to keep the item.

Anyone else got any funny stories behind the reason for someone returning an item?

Sold a vintage TMNT series 1 Raph moc auction ended at £14 quid ( i was gutted it ended so cheap ) but.......

Get a return request - Buyer "this figure says on the back its from 1998 is that right?"
Me "yeah thats correct"
Buyer " Oh. i want to return it then I'm not paying £14 for an old figure when i can get a new one cheaper"

I had to read that msg a few times just to make sure i wasn't dreaming.

Sold a set of vintage x-wing cannons and the buyer opened a return request because...

They won't fit his x-wing?!?!

Totally baffled me this one especially when I yes no international shipping, which he requested and I ended up been £11.50 out of pocket. Weird.

I've got a beaut, think I posted bout it a while back. Sold a POTF 2 12 inch yoda to someone on ebay, obviously the Yoda is about 5 inches tall. 1/6 scale, full size man = 12 inches, Yoda = 5 inches. Got a message from the buyer saying - I want a refund! You said 12 inch Yoda! I want a 12 inch tall Yoda, he is tiny! I explained it was from the 12 inch range but Yoda is 3 foot tall and the toy is in scale with a man being 12 inches. It just wasn't going in. I got him back and he's now sitting happily on the shelf, won't ever sell him now after that, too funny

Not SW related or strictly speaking 'returning an item', but I did hear about a couple who turned up an animal shelter with their cat. When the shelter asked why they wanted it rehomed they were expecting to hear the couple were moving away or one had developed an allergy etc.
The couple said they had just redecorated their front room and the cat didn't match with the new décor. True story.

Sold a MOC Ugnaught, bubble had a crack a few centimetres long, I said it had, took a photo of it, buyer wanted to return it with "the crack is slightly bigger than I thought" (Oooo Errrr). They returned it, I relisted, it sold for £6 more this time.

I had a brilliant one just last week, not star wars but a record I sold on a trading site called Discogs. It was a recent reissue of a rare old record. He contacted me when it arrived saying it was a bootleg. I said no it's not a bootleg, it is an officially licensed reissue. His response was along the lines of "it's not an original pressing so therefore it is a bootleg, END OF STORY. It may be legal but it is still a bootleg."

After much arguing (polite on my side, sweary on his) he threatened to come to my house so I reported him and he got banned. If he had just taken two minutes to look up the definition of bootleg in a dictionary, he could have saved us both a whole load of grief.

As the saying goes, you can't argue with stupid.

So if we use his backwards logic does that mean that the starwars vintage collection figures are bootlegs?

worst one i had wasnt actually a return in essence

it went like this

him - "the figure is at my post office to collect"

me - "yes you may have been out so they leave it there for you to collect"

him - "i paid for it to be delivered so you can either go pick it up for me or give me a refund, im not paying to travel for it"

me - "hmm let me think about it for 15 days and get back to you"

Not had anyone return an item but, have had people outside the UK ask how much it would be so send to wherever, even though I say in massive words UK ONLY.
