Its the number 90% that really F*cks me off... forget the vintage/modern for one moment and just think about the Vintage era alone. Can you imagine what 90% of all vintage MERCHANDISE, not just toys would even look like, but 90% of all merchandise ever released is the quote!!! I doubt even Sansweet would try to claim 90% and he has a freakin ranch full of it all!
Its an enormous and possibly undefinable volume of possible items.
Think... Kenner, Palitoy, Ledy, Takara etc. etc.
Think... Sigma ceramics
Think... Helix (can't forget Helix)
Think... Audio cassettes, vinyl, all the variants of videos the world over in the various rental/retail variants
How many bleedin' books and comics have ever been made
Bedding, curtains, light fittings, cushions
Plush Toys
Computer games
These are just the main lines that jump to mind, all the obscure oddball items don't feature above or come close to scraping the edges of it...

As said as long as it floats his boat who cares, the fun is in the chase a lot of the time, shitty journalism no doubt, but an impressive collection even if its not to our taste, be a boring world if we all liked & collected the same thing, not to mention us being ****ed if everyone collected vintage, just means more for us

That was the point i was trying to make earlier.
Like if someone said they had owned 90% of all Jaguar lines ever released that would mean they had owned one of every kind of Jaguar ever released, bar 10%. Not 90% of Jaguars made.
They're still probably talking shite but i'm just trying to clarify their meaning.

The article states the biggest collection of Star Wars and it's worth thousands - both of which is bollocks.
If this chap is happy collecting modern then fine, collect whatever you want but don't sell yourself as the biggest SW collector. Now whether that is him telling the journalist that, or the journalist embellishing statements made in the interview (highly likely) we don't know. I could not care less what he or anyone else collects.
All those pics show mainly Hasbro stuff which unless he's paid pennies for to start with, he will lose money on almost every single piece. The secondary market for Hasbro stuff is saturated. So you could say it's a total waste of money from a financial/investment standpoint at the moment.
Whichever way you look at it - neither the collector or the journalist have come out looking great in this article - whoever is to blame.
