'Worlds Biggest Star Wars Collection' 'Worth Thousands'

I really hope it's the Express Journalist who is making this up, but if Keith Guppy is actually claiming to have the worlds largest collection then bullshit Keith, one bedroom full of post 1995 toys does not constitute the Worlds largest collection. ****, you can see bigger collections in the limelights here and on Rebelscum.
Shame on you the Express or Keith Guppy.

This guy has got an amazing modern collection, but it's not unique and he needs to sort it out.

I mean his house is full of it.

Amazingly The Express stopped short of claiming that Star wars toys are a cure for dementia.

don't know how much he had, but i remember me to other collectors they have more....... i respect his collection, sure he love star wars as i do
collect whatever you want but don't sell yourself as the biggest SW collector

agree with you Sublevel Studios

It's not my cup of tea but good luck to him, it's an impressive collection and well displayed, I bet he loves it. He's obviously a huge Star Wars fan so he's alright in my book. Biggest collection? My arse it is. Seen several bigger ones on youtube and on the telly :|

dont underestimate the value of modern. A lot of those lines from the 2000s go for silly cash (revan, talon, c3po), the modern falcon & ATAT get crazy money thrown at them.

Have a look at some of the sales of Vintage collection.. daft for figures that werent out that long ago
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw=vintage+collection+vc&_sop=16&_from=R40%7CR40&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xvintage+collection+star+wars+vc.TRS0&_nkw=vintage+collection+star+wars+vc&_sacat=0

But the story is trite journalism. It might be the biggest star wars collection in Yeovil. Surely Grants got more under his bed.. no?

I collect both modern and vintage, i think he has a fine collection, but yeah definately not the biggest, steve swansweet i'm sure holds that crown, not sure who has the biggest collection in the uk,

Just browed the link of VC stuff on eBay and saw this:

Why do AFA grade modern stuff with decimal grades?

Don't know, good question though. They started doing it about 5 years ago I think. A bit random. :?

mean that's one of the harder to find Figures and to hold/ protect what it is they grade it

Price is around 150-250 USD for a Item like this

and are these guys happy with it so why not for the next Generation , it may not always be logically

I must admit, I have the same Problem   have also this item graded

I agree with Pete here. More and more of the POTF2 90s generation are coming back wanting to have what they had in their youth.

Some of the VC cards are a better investment than the more common vintage ROTJ cards simply because there are so many more of the ROTJs in circulation. This is presumably because no ones going to bother u-grading a Weequay, or bothering with grading the MOC either. Some of the VCs seem rare in comparison.

They're not my cup of tea at all, but the card art and the design of the figures for the VC MOCS are far nicer than the old POTF2 stuff, or the countless reissues on other cards.

You can also get decent POTF2 lots at good prices simply because peolpe can't be bothered parting them out to sell.

Guys, can everyone just chill out. This is my collection you are talking about and yes this is typical journalism gone mad! For the record I never said I had the biggest any thing, all I said is that I have about 90 percent of the 3 3/4 range of modern, post 95 toys and probably one of the largest modern collection in the Uk. Everything else is rubbish and has been embellished by the Wester Daily Press, Express, Sun etc to name a few!

I am just a collector like some of you enjoying a hobby so some of you back off!

Thanks

For the record, I think most of guys were slagging off the papers for over egging your collection. Not you for having it. That would be a bit daft given we're all fellow collectors.
Modern may not be everyone's cup of tea, but then nor are MOC's, loose, variants etc.

Fair play for that collection, but don't take the comments on here personally, most are aimed squarely at the journalists who wrote it.

Your probably right I guess. I found the post today and had not realised it caused such a debate. Just wanted to get the truth out there. I also have a reasonable vintage collection which was not even mentioned by the papers.

Feel free to do a limelight thread on here. That's definitely a better way to introduce yourself.
