In anticipation of the world cup I thought i'd start off a memorabilia thread with something I bought last year. Here is an excellent mint condition complete collection of 1990 medals, the beginning of the folder is actually a few magazine style pages of world cup info, followed by the medal collection on the back card page. Me and my best mate used to collect these as kids, I never knew there was a collectors folder though back then so it was nice to finally 'complete' the full set with the folder all these years later. :)

Any other world cup memorabilia you have feel free to share.

Yeah I remember the Esso ones as well in the blue folder I think it was, they were very similar to these ones.

Italia 90 is the first world cup I remember well, I vaguely recall 86 but not in much detail. I had the medal set you posted, and these cool Coke footballs:

Ah... I remember Italia 90 well, spent two weeks of the World Cup in Rhodes. Great memories of watching games in bars to late into the evening!

I think that the Esso coins would have been the FA cup coins from a few years earlier?

I have both complete sets in the folders in ... yes you guessed it... the loft!

Remember those footballs well.
I think that Italia 90 was the first one that merchandising was everywhere!

Edd, the first one that I remember well is 1978!

Yeah I remember those, I think my older bro had one, another little thing i've completely forgot about since literally 1990. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Weirdly I didn't get into a world cup until the USA 1994 one which is actually the first one I vaguely remember getting into but not much, I remember collecting the stickers for it too with the album, which is now god damn ****ing expensive and I really need one for my collection.

The very first world cup that I actually really got into with genuine passion for supporting the England team was the 1998 world cup, when I was almost leaving school and old enough to actually pay attention to it because I wasn't playing with toys anymore.... now iv'e got the best of both worlds.

I've got my completed Mexico 86 Panini sticker album in the shed.

I think you'll be surprised how much that's worth especially completed, maybe it would be best not being stored in a shed because of it degrading?

Don't worry, it's well looked after. It's more of a chalet than a shed, carpeted and heat/light. Its in a detolf with lots of my other knick knacks. It's basically my man cave.

Ah I see haha, I was picturing a holey shed full of tools and dust.
