World Cup 2010

I think we really deserved this win from the tactical and creative point of view. Really impressive performance.

Next round - next classic against those Argentinian farmers. This will be a heavy clash.

Horrible refs performance this day, indeed. What was the ref dicussing with the linesman after the first offside goal for ARG ?!?!?!

The replay had been shown in the stadium and the players, the ref and the linesman had seen it. They discussed going back on their decision but decided the rules didn't allow them to.

Aye some terrible decisions made by officials in the last few games.
And Germany definitely deserved that win. Ok if Lampards goal had been allowed to stand it MIGHT have been different but Germany where still 2 levels above England. Will be interesting to see how they cope against Argentina. The Argries look good going forward but their defence looks dodgey as hell, and they haven't really played anyone decent yet. Saying that I don't know exactly how good Germany are, they seem a bit hot and cold. Hot against a poor Australia and an even poorer England, but cold against Ghana and Poland (ok, you can blame the ref for the second one).

It was Serbia  , but we controlled the game with 10 men against the Serbs. Ghana was surely a tough match but also a tough opponent.

You must have been gutted by Germany's poor showing yesterday Lafos!

I just worry that they are peaking too soon. Everyone has one bad game in a world cup and the German's haven't had one yet. I don't count the Serbia game cos the ref ruined it (for both sides). They are looking impresive though.

Just barely weaz.

TBH they're both top teams and will be difficult (but not impossible) to beat. Would be nice to see a country win it that has never done so before though. So Spain I guess. Sorry Lafos.

I have to admit that the better team won yesterday. It was a good move from the spanish coach to switch to 4-5-1. Spain had an incredible ball control in the midfield and it seems our young team was too nervous & fearfully.

Good to see a "new" World Champion at the weekend.

After all these years, both teams deserve the title, may the better team win.

Will be quite an interesting final. Not really sure who to cheer for. The Spanish, on their day, play some fantastic football, but I've always had a soft spot for the Dutch so....

Saying that I hope it's better than that semi last night, until the goal I was falling asleep. It wasn't exactly action packed!

That's why i'll be cheering for Holland. Spain have been negative and made every game they've played in boring, trying to bore the opposition into submission. The Dutch have really gone for it and play with real class... so come on the Oranges...!! :D

oranje boven :D

iam putting my money on holland aswell

al tho the spanish did play very well against dsie germans

iam hoping holland wins today ,

@emiel , i bet its great in amsterdam again , de bomen van het leidesplein terug volgehangen met oranje koeien zeker

i love how the netherlands get so patriotic in times like these

wish i could come over to check the game , unfortanetly i'll be working at game time

Agreed they did deserve to beat the germans who, until that point, were the best team in the tournament. Still wasn't pretty tho was it...?

Thanks for the support guys. I do think Oranje have played with real heart this tournament, but whether it's enough...

If they win it it is expected that about 1 million people will visit Amsterdam on tuesday to see the team arrive in a boat through the canals. I work in a building that is situated canal side, so me and my colleagues should have a great view of the spectacle.

Hard luck Emiel, your lot had chances to win it, but the Spanish probably just about shadded it.

Gotta say though, that has to be THE most underwhelming world cup of all time. I'm genuinely struggling to think of a single game that was more than a 6 out of 10 match. There were very few decent free kicks scored, barely a handful of good goals and the general standard of crossing/corners was dire. 75% of ALL crosses/corners hit the first man or sailed 20 yards over the heads of whoever they were aimed at.
The least entertaining tournament I can remember, and I watched Italia '90!

Really not gonna miss this world cup at all :(
