Got a text from my Mrs yesterday saying she was interviewing Kenny Baker on whether or not he would be in EpVII. As much as he maintains that Star Wars 'is for kids' it sounds like he's holding onto the dream :) R2 is back so who knows.

This man is a legend in Preston ...to me

The R2D2 builders club are doing the droids fie ep 7. They're fully remote controlled with no room inside for a little person as far as I'm aware.

R2 in episode 3 was awful. In none of the old movies or even in episode 1 and 2 could he move so fast, and I hated the contraption in Anakins ship that catapulted R2 out of his little slot thing. I think purely mechanical would be better than animated, though think its a shame that Kenny Baker isn't necessarily going to be in it. He did such a spot on job in the oldies, shame he's out of a job just because the technology has gotten better.

I wouldn't worry too much about KB. He's still reaping the rewards and lives in a massive house for such a small guy.

Yeah, he's not short of a bob or two :D

BTW...lovin Mr Bump Barry

R2 in ep VII should be completely knackered. How old would it be? No-one keeps technology that long, not even a Yorkshire man. I'd love to see a really beaten R2, like R5

It'll never happen, he's still fully functional and looking as sharp as ever in the Star Wars:Legacy comic series featuring Luke grandson Cade Skywalker...

He is getting on a bit. Must be a few bits of dodgy welding, some filler and a bad motivator

You cannot polish a turd ...unless you take David Lee Roth's advice - "wait until it goes hard"
