Hi!

Funny story - on a recent trip back to my family home i was asked by the Olds to "clear out your crap from the loft pls!". So i had a climb/crawl into the attic and what did i find? All my old Star Wars stuff! Much to my wifes disgust and therefore my endless pleasure i have now brought it all back to my own place! :D I have to be honest i wasnt really sure what my intentions were when i fisrt brought it back, a lot of the items (most of the vehicles/ewok village/Dagobah etc) are all still boxed and therefore take up a lot of space in what isnt the most massive of houses and i'd be lying if i said i didnt think about selling at least some of the larger bits, and i still might - which is one of the reasons i looked up the forum. But having a look through the gallery pages at some of the collections people have accumulated is genuinely proper inspiring! So i've decided to organise what little space i have in the office/"man cave" and get it up on display where possible!! So, as i intend to be on the forum a fair bit from here on, i figured a little bit more about myself is a good place to start....

Aye, that's what I thought. Bit of a random choice. Just wondering if there is a reason why Josh went for it.

He likes Alien/s films?

I collect the Kenner Aliens toys myself, he might collect them too I think? Or did at one time?

Hi all

Havent been on here for ages, been hectic.

Anyway, I'll be getting the odd MOC here and there and slowly start my collecting again. I still have a few which I bough off 1 or 2 on here but just been too busy to spend the money on the one's I want.

Gonna go for the early MOC's - 12/21 Backs etc so it may be expensive :(

Hi to all the newbies

Hi there,

Allow me to introduce myself by telling how I got heavily involved in collecting Star Wars.

It was only one year ago, when I entered a small comics shop in The Hague, and came across a vintage TIE Fighter pilot figure. As a kid it was my biggest wish to add this cool black figure to my modest collection of Star Wars figures and mini-rigs. Unfortunately the figure was virtually absent from the dutch toyshops which I used to visit at that time. Till one day, I entered a shop and saw the One Card in the front row of a rack at the back of the shop. I slowly walked towards the card, a moment of complete joy which appeared to last a life time,…..only to see it taken away by another kid, just seconds before I could get my hands on it….Taken away from me….My precious…..

In the upcoming years after this traumatic event, I still managed to finish school and university somehow. I even got a job, a girlfriend, a car, a house, and a cat, so everything seemed pretty normal….But was it?

Deep inside me there remained this little boy, still in sorrow. Sometimes, while trying to sleep, I could hear him cry in the dark emptiness of the night. I could even sense his grief during the day, in the cinema when watching Episode I (although that could be the adult me) or in the toy shop fully piled with testosteronic Luke and Darth Vader action figures back in the 90s.
You understand, while standing there in this shop in The Hague, 27 years after that traumatic event, I HAD no choice but to stop this little boy from suffering any longer. And that's exactly what I did. I bought TIE Fighter Pilot, to bring back balance to the Inner Force.

The little boy recovered and was happy again. Simultaneously an unstoppable chain of events was unleashed. I started searching on www for more Star Wars stuff to complete the little boy's vintage collection. Meanwhile, half of the attic is now occupied with vintage Star Wars, and we are still happily collecting….
I also discovered there were a lot of fellow collectors sharing the same inner Star Wars spirit. It is great to see there is a place for them on www where they can share their experiences and enthusiasm.

Dr Dengar is the name, nice to meet you, I am more than happy to join your forum.

Name: Marco / Dr Dengar
Age: 38
Single/Married: Living together happily with my girlfriend who – lucky me! - respects my new hobby as long as I don't occupy the other half of the attic :D
Residence: Den Bosch, Netherlands
Occupation: Project Manager (scientific research)
Kids: Not yet, just to prevent I would have nightmares when my girlfriend is pregnant, and the only way to stop these would be to become a Sith Lord
Pets: A big red male cat named Wookiee

Collecting Focus: Vintage Starwars loose figures and their variations. I have just bought my first carded figure and I am now considering to collect MOC as well. Same for Lili Ledy (6 figures sofar). In addition I am a big fan of custom vintage figures as they seem to extend the original Kenner collection.
Character Preference: Imperials, Bounty Hunters
Movie Preference: ESB

Welcome to the forum Marco.

Love the background to your collecting focus.

Out of interest, what was the first MOC you have added to your collection?
I have been able to put together my Ledy set so if you need any help, let me know .

Enjoy the forum mate. 8)
