HI
I have FINALLY gotten around to posting an introduction, please be kind....
My name is Joanne and I work for a 'small' auction company called Vectis. I read with interest many of the posts on here and learn a lot from them. I will come clean I don't collect SW myself (although I am an avid collector of another realm). I work for one of the foremost Toy Auction companies who deal with a lot of rare Star Wars item and see on a daily basis thousands of SW pieces more than many will see in a lifetime.
My OH and his brother are SW collectors and I speak on a daily basis with collectors, so I do feel qualified to comment on things. Many of my posts will be about items coming up for auction, yes this is promotion but with out blowing our own trumpet too much we are a great source of information and reference point. We have over 10 years worth of images, descriptions and prices on our website. One of the things that makes our auction house different is we do have sub genre specialists. Many auction houses offer one or two specialists, we have specialist in areas such as Diecast, Hot Wheel, Subbuteo, Action Man, Teddy Bears, Dolls, Trains, Lead and Plastic Figures to name but a few, I could go on.
For Star Wars we have Kathy Taylor and Andrew Read plus we use consultants if needed to remain up to date with facts and figures please feel free to contact us with any questions.
My role at Vectis is a varied one, Marketing and Business Development. I am responsible for all social media, research on subject in forthcoming sales and general marketing. I often write for internet blogs and magazines and get involved with PR responses for my sins.....
I am passionate about toys, love researching all toys and love what I do.
I have posted before about being open to suggestions (about Vectis..... ) so bring it on! Can't promise the world but will give it a try.
Live long and prosper......
