Hi All!

I'm new to the board, but not to collecting as it's been a pretty big part of my life, on and off, for the past 20 years.

I started off with a few loose figures, back in 1995 - before I'd ever been on line - and aquired a nice little collection through shows and Model & Collectors Mart. I remember buying a 12 back Vader for £90 and being casual given the choice of 'Kenner or Palitoy'!

Then the internet revolution happened to me (remember going onto yahoo and being able to get your actual name - rather than max72563783?!). After a couple of years online, I'd embraced overseas transactions and put together a few nice pieces - Revenge Mini-rigs, a 3 pack, an earlybird kit (with a sealed DT Luke for £300 or so!), a few proof cards and 11 of the 12 Palitoy '12back' figures. I remember meeting a chap at the NEC to buy a 12 back Palitoy Luke for £500!

I tend to churn things over a little as focus' and interests change, and they did, so the above went and I did other things for a while, until I was drawn back into Proof Cards. I managed to again put together a decent little collection with some real rarities. But once again, life moved on, I wanted to buy a house, and I ended up selling everything to fund a deposit.

I didn't really collect for a few years, although I took a last minute flight to CE2 in Germany to meet Mark Hammill and get his signature, which was something I'd regretted not doing since CE in London.

I suppose SW collecting must be in your veins; as two house moves later I'm back with the itch!

So Hi! I'm sure there are some old faces around still, who I might know, and might know me - but hi to everybody. I've lost a lot of brain cells since I was last collecting, so be gentle if I ask some dumb questions.

Hey Max. Good to see you join up here AND welcome to everyone else that's new here.

Hi everybody, greetings from Holland.

I collect only Clipper related Star Wars toys. Clipper was the manufacturer/distributor of Star Wars toys in the early eighties in Holland.

Hope to have a good time here.

Hey mate - long time! I sent you an email the other day but guess I have an old address. Hope you're well!

Looking forward to seeing what ridiculously cool stuff you've uncovered and bought to Scotland!

Hi Kato92, welcome to the forum, you've taken your first step into a larger world

Hello all!

I'm Ollie from France! (originally from Northampton UK)

Long time lurker, I thought it was high time I joined in all the fun being had here!

I'm an occasional photoshop contributor to the "other" vintage Star Wars podcast and it was the ensuing war that lead me to the SWFUK podcast ;) which I absolutely love.

Looking to finish my lose collection (only a few to go) and then get stuck into carded figures, I think I'm in the right place to get that done.

Looking forward to chatting with you all,

Ollie

Hi Ollie,

Welcome over to the dark side.
We've got the chivecast guys on our next episode to talk about the swca party. The 'war' was the best thing to happen to us as the amount of traffic we received exploded. All hatchets have been well and truly buried now. :D

Hi Ollie, welcome to SWFUK.
You've taken your first step into a larger world!

Welcome to all, great place to hang out and learn a hell of a lot and not forgetting pick up some nice collectibles!
