Hi There all . My name is Alastair I live up in Aberdeen . I have a small collection of star wars loose figures . But know I am ready to start on carded figures can any one help out with what one's are the best to collect
thanks Ally

Hi Alastair Welcome to the forum.

With MOCs, it really depends on a lot things- How much money you wanna spend, How fussy you are with condition and which card releases you're into: Star Wars, ESB, or ROTJ or Tri-logo. Generally they go up in price from former to latter, tho that's not always the case.
Is there a particular figure or card-back you had in mind? Lobot??
Let peeps know what you're after and they might be able to steer you in the right direction.

There are a few for sale in the sale thread on here. Bollux, Stargeezer both have a couple going and Spoons has a couple of 'Han Hoths'.
Check em out.
Of course there's always ebay. If you see something on there and are unsure, just post a link here (ebay thread) for advice.

I have a ROTJ Rancor Keeper and Tri-logo Nikto going too  ... but they're not posted yet.

Cheers
Pete.

Many thanks for the imfo pete . What carded figures would I most likley to complete or am i better off just one of each figure of any of the cards sorry theres so many questions to ask it was easyer to collect the loose figures and ships. :D

Hello everybody !

I started collecting SW vintage stuff in 1994 and left it till last year. When I came back to collecting, I realized that prices were almost the same than 15 years ago (at least here in France). Started a collection of ROTJ and trilogo mocs, then I'll shift to ESB and finally to SW (hope I'll be richer then !).
I discovered the forum and loved it since most of my friends here think I'm some crazy SW maniac !
Good to join all of you guys ! :)

Name: Guillem
Age: 32
Married: Married
Residence: Paris
Occupation: Scholar
Collecting Focus: Trilogo MOC's(last 17), ROTJ MOCS, boxed vehicles and playsets, anything related to A Wings.
Looking for: gamorrean guard trilogo, imperial gunner trilogo, R2D2 popup trilogo, solo carbonite trilogo...

Well any run of debut releases is gonna cost 100's if not 1000's to complete.
There are 21 Star Wars backs which would set you back between 100 and 500 for each one.
29 ESB
31 ROTJ
17 POTF
and those are just the debuts. You've then got SW figs on ESB and ROTJ backs, ESBs on ROTJ and then everything (bar 6 or 7 never released) on the tri-logo back. And then there's all the variants. :?

With regards to ease, to complete, it depends on money. Arguable the SW backs are the easiest to complete cos there's less of them and they are always available.
Tri-logo is undoubtably the hardest to complete, if not impossible.

That's just my take on it tho. I'm not an expert. :)

Welcome Guillem!

Do you have anything left from the first time you collected?

Hope we'll see your collection in the limelight section soon. :)

Bon soir Guillem, accueillir au forum!

That's about as far as my French will take me at this point.
I have been to Paris several time recently. My 'ex' was Parisien. Beautiful city. But very expensive!

Look forward to seeing your collection.

Pete.

Well, I kept almost all the lose figures (some in bad shape as at that time there was no ebay or forums and collecting was mostly about visiting house's attics and old shops to find something ! and a few lose vehicles. At that time I was also collecting SW bedshits
