Where it all started - Pics please!

Yeah i was lucky, my favourite toy ever i think. Through various circumstances i lost all my childhood SW toys about 7/8 years ago. I'm currently restoring a grey Palitoy x-wing like the one in the picture. May not be my actual one but it'll be as close as i can get. :D

Wow nice childhood pictures, looks like you guys could open boxes and cardbacks without destroying them

 That was probably my dad, he would have took over and put stickers on everything. I notice the battle damage stickers aren't on the x-wing at this point. I remember him giving me the ultimatum - if they don't go on, they go in the bin!

You may have seen them on my detention centre post, but I always intended adding them to here to the WIAS archive.

**** the Star Wars, you have a friggin ghost on your sofa chair, Strat.

This is a photo of me with some of my Star Wars toys(with muddy knees). I posted it in another thread somewhere. I asked my Mum about it and she thinks it's early 84' so I think I must have got the Scout Walker, X-Wing and Speeder Bike for Christmas. I've got my Luke Farmboy flying the X-Wing and AT-AT Driver driving the Scout Walker, as you do! I've still got everything except the figures and the Falcon. I thought this was the only photo of me with Star Wars stuff but my Mum reckons she has one of me holding a ROTJ annual, I'll have to try and find it. Wish I had more, of me opening Star Wars Christmas presents or with all my toys/figures. Would love to know what figures I had, can remember some but not all.

 , I thought it best rubbing out the relative rather posting her on a public forum. I'm crap at those picture editing things as you can see!!

Cool Vader costume. The Threepio/Chewie one was from Acamas Toys in 1983 I think.

There's a Vader one on the bay just now, but the detail on the chestplate seems to be different from yours. Maybe yours was a Ben Cooper or Rubies one?

Robstyley - great photos!

The figure I most wanted as a kid was an X-Wing Luke but never got one, Luke Jedi did the flying in our house! :D

I got a Star Wars haul for Xmas 84 too but I can find no photos of the day anywhere! I'll have to have another look when I'm next at my parents.

Looks like the farmboy was the pilot in Robs house. And an AT AT driver in the AT ST, being attacked by Logray. Almost like the films....almost.

Pretty sure I always had Dengar as one of the good guys. Accuracy is not needed in childhood.

I've no idea on who made the Vador outfit. Ive never even looked into, but I will now you have piqued my interest in it.

wow and I gave you the credit for the nice opening of the boxes and moc  I remember from my childhood I was very careful with opening all my toy boxes and cardbacks. I loved to play grocery with my frinds and then used empty toy boxes and empty food boxes that was cleaned  But my dad throw it all out

Wow some nice items you had as a child, cool picture 8)

Loving this thread!

Here are my pictures i found, dated december 1986. All the SW stuff (Ywing, A wing pilot and Leia Boush) went to my younger brother that year, damn, i got the Lego train, a signed football from the Belgium national soccerteam and some action force figures! The girlie stuff were my niece's things.

I remember the moment we came down from our rooms, seeing the goodies, awesome! Here you can see me (wearing blue - yellow bathrobe) immediately claiming that Y wing, and my brother asking our parents if that wasnt his stuff hehe!!

Next picture, i am on the right side now, close to 'my' toys i got, but still holding the A wing pilot, trying to smuggle it away :D My brother is already into his Ywing, i look kinda dissapointed, life can be hard ....

First time i uploaded pictures, so i hope this went right, enjoy !

I love this thread so much - and those last pictures are amazing Bob - I get all nostalgic when I see these and although I don't have any physical pictures, these do drag up some mental imagines long lost inside my little brain

Nice pictures Kayor, thanks for sharing! Would you mind if I added one of your pictures to this article?: http://trilogo.info/features/growing-up-trilogo/ (Scroll down to the very end for birthday/christmas pics) - would really appreciate it!

Kayor, amazing photos!

Looking closer at the last one where you've swiped the A-Wing Pilot....it looks to me like you've just peeled off the bubble with your left hand! Something that looks like a bubble is in your left, anyway, and there's an unhealthy bend to the card in your right, too ;)

Hey, don't feel too bad about that Lego set. Mint in box it worth about the same as the Y-Wing, A-Wing pilot and Leia put together! So if you still had it you could have sold it an bought our preferred presents

Right, digging out the family albums over the next couple of days to see if I can find some from that era. The problem is I never got much SW for Christmas. The best SW present I remember getting was 3 stormtroopers all in one present. I was so chuffed.

Thanks guys, glad you like the pictures!

@ Joe: feel free to use what you want on your nice site!

Could be i just opened the card, can't remember :D I did save the backs for some years though, then they got lost ...

Another question, that R2 in the Y wing came in the box right? I still have it in my loose collection, as the Leia and A wing pilot :)

Was pleased with my lego train aswell (still have it but not MIB :D ) , and my action force stuff, my brother and i did share all the toys nevertheless. That train has been up around our own lego city for ages!
Funny story aswell is that i took the signature ball out of display after some years, when we lost our ball playing outside. And yeah, now seeing this photo's one might think, if only i didn't open this... lol, guess we all wanted the same when we got new stuff and that was playing with it asap

The best SW present I remember getting was 3 stormtroopers all in one present. I was so chuffed.
That's a dream present, an army of stormies, jawas, ... !!!! Hope you can find those pictures!

Bob
