where do I go from here?

Yes ron I do believe it is,i'm not interested in beaters though,I like my cards and bubbles intact and in good c8 condition if possible, cant stand dented or cracked bubbles (dont mind yellowing though)

Thanks for the advice ron.

Yeah I think i'l start rotj (still got a few anyway) and go from there, knowing me i'l just go mental and buy everything I see,I'm keeping this one quiet from my missus for a while

I would have thought the entire ROTJ and ESB could be picked up for under £2k though it will take you some time to find them all so the cost would be spread out over a long period, and i'm sure with some luck they could be got for far less, especially with a bit of bulk buying.

With the SW cards, as Ron says some can be picked up quite reasonably, and if you aren't fussed about the cardback (just as long as it is SW) you'll have a choice of 12/20 and 21 backs, which will make it easier and cheaper.

When you thinking of starting?

Sith - I'm going to pay for a few loose bits (star wars and joe) this month and then start november pay packet,i'm probably going to buy 10 or so a month, really want to get my hands on a stormie and darth in my first batch as I love stromtroopers and i'v never ever had a darth vader moc so would really want 1 first up.

I'm not a huge fan of the esb cards,is there anyway around that guys?

What is the best way to display carded figs?

Thanks again for all the input gents

Stef

10 a month  9 for you, one for me  "Best way to display carded figures" the more space you have the better. Vader & Stormie on Star Wars cardbacks- nice :) If you have room for MOCs, you have room for boxed vehicles. Variations are fun too :D Or you could go for alternate back cards like; Chewie, Bespin Leia & Luke, Vader etc.or you could go for U grade loose :p or you could..... Now I see why you asked the question.

Aussie - I meant 10 a month on jedi cards mate, get all the **** figures out the way quickly (weequay, klaatu etc..) but I do want to get at least 1 of those sw figures when I start next month, probably a mix and match (I like to keep myself guessing a bit) i'm only a landscaper/tree surgeon so i'm far from loaded mate, every purchase I make will be on the down low,my missus would kill me if she knew I was gunning for vintage sw as well  probably store most of it at my mums house so she wont get the full picture 8)

Tatsie - I like the fact everyone is polite on here 1 minute and then calling each other ****'s etc the next,oh and watch for ron and his axe comments every now and then (scary ****  )

To get round the ESB cards, you could get them on ROTJ

But I have a feeling once you get them you will wish you had them on ESB as it provides a better display from SW through to jedi.

As for display, I have mine in Star cases hanging from the walls. It's a fairly cheap way of doing and looks ok.

It was never meant to be permanent though, however i'm waiting till I move to a bigger place before setting up something better.

I have been selling of my Kenner film related card set over the past year. I still have a few left. Drop me a PM as i may have a few you need

Great to see you've made your mind up for the new focus.

Looking forward to seeing it progress mate

I can't remember exactly how many cards it was, But i made a space for each one on my wall.

It was great each time a new piece arrived and a space was filled. It was very motivating watching the walls gradually fill up with MOC and having the progression from SW through to ROTJ 8)

Browny

If I were you I would finish some of the runs you have already been working on. Like try and add a loose VCJ, Blue Snag etc etc.

Its some times better to not bite off more than you can chew with having too many projects on the go at once.

Thanks very much for all the replies guys 8)

I'm going to start november on my carded film run and have taken note of everything you guys have said.

Grant - i'm going to buy a blue snag at the end of the month (payday) and have a few gi joe's left to finalise,i'm a bit reluctant to buy a vc jawa unless it's from someone on here because I wouldnt have a scooby about a real one from a repro one.

Sith - i'l send you a pm a bit nearer the time with regards to what you have left, thanks for all your help.would love to see a picture of your collection as it sounds extensive?

Thanks again,stef

Sith smith - just checked out your collection mate,do you still have it all?have you trimmed it down or increased it?that is 1 of the most incredible collections i'v seen, certainly from a UK collector, that must be one of the biggest collections in the country??

That kind of puts everything into perspective really and is inspiring to casual collectors like me!

Stef :)

It's changed quite a bit since then.

I think at that point I had a complete Kenner set as well, from SW through to ROTJ plus a complete set of POTF/droids and ewoks. Have now sold most of that lot off.

Everything pictured I still have as palitoy is my collecting focus.

Sith - so you had a complete set of both palitoy and kenner? and all those vehicles and other bits and bobs (animated figs etc..) absolute quality there mate.

How do you store it all safely?

Thanks again stef.
