Hello gents

Basically i'v finished my gi joe collection for the time being (still got carded figures to get) and am now concentrating back on vintage for the forseeable future

I'v got the full set of loose figures (apart from blue snag,vc jawa and wind up r2) and am looking for expert advice on where to go from here, will be upgrading some of these though.

I'v been thinking along the lines of potf coins as I have a few already, but want to know more about baggie's,potf carded, tri logo, jedi, vehicles etc...basically what I am looking for is a rough idea of how easy each focus would be to complete with an idea on cost as well,I do like to finish 1 thing before I start another and I sadly dont have enough experience in star wars to decide (I dont want to start something I cant realistically finish) everything has to be c7+ though.

I have a reasonable budget but not infinite and just want to know a little more guys about where I could possibly go from here 8)

Any advice is as always very much appreciated

Cheers stef

Stef it all depends what the max you want to spend on 1 piece. POTF coin are ok till you want to complete the collection. Same with most things. I suppose the best thing is to start collecting MOC

Thanks ron, maybe I should ask the question what the most expensive peices are for each focus mate?

Potf? (anakin?)
rotj 77bks? (leia organa?)
potf coins???????
animated figures? (boba fett?)
baggies?????
star wars 12,20 or 21 bks?????
Vehicles??????(sandcrawler maybe??)

Any help please guys

Cheers stef

Stef, in my personal opinion i would go for a character focus. This way you can decide on what to go for in the character focus and it can be complete when you think it is complete.

Just dont choose chewie!!!!

Steve

Ron - what would a film run entail exactly i'm confused?

Steve - that chewie focus you have is inspiring I have to admit and I admire you for amassing such a collection but one question, what do you do when you'v finished it?
as well as that I dont like treading on peoples toes and would find it hard to focus on a character that nobody already has?i'm ****ed if i'm going to focus on weequay or prune face :)

Cheers for the replies so far guys, stef

I agree with Ron mate.

A film release run would mean collecting the first 21 Star Wars figures on Star Wars cardbacks, then the figures from Empire on ESB cardbacks etc.....

It's a great run to start, you can start Jedi and work onto SW or just go for a mixture.

I started a character focus, but soon got bored. Each to there own though Browny mate.

yeah burnsy each to there own i do admire these variant charaterfocus guys. These guys put a lot time and dedication in to it. I would go for a film run. Most expensive cards would be SW,ESB,POTF if your not worried about yellow bubbles or damaged cards even anakin and be picked up on tri-logo to slash the costs. To get a run of figures on card. Cheaper if you dont go for graded

I agree with Ron too.

I have done what he recommended twice ( once Kenner and once Palitoy)

It is quite achieveable, but not so easy that you'll do it over night.

You can make good steady progress and watch as your collection grows.

Also expense for the majority of items isn't too great. even the first 12 aren't ridiculous

You may want to consider the last 15 on trilogo rather than POTF though

Thanks for the input guys,I really think that could be one I could complete fairly comfortable, although I would also need to get potf which I know costs a packet.

As bollox said what about tri logos?are they cheaper?

Burnsy - thanks for the add on fb by the way, nice to meet you mate :)
