What's the best movie of the originals?

Empire is like the wife - the one you chose to stick with because things just kind of work and you know a good thing when you see it ...hopefully

Jedi is like the ex girlfriend that you have fond memories of - cheap thrills and good times mixed with a bit of stupid crap, but what the hell :p
Superb analogy, Baz- but I'm sure my current feelings about Jedi would have been swayed by seeing it on the big screen in the park at CEII like Jez mentioned!

Empire for me

The hoth battle scene is epic and when you think it's time for a rest, Han, Leia, Chewie and C3P0 are chased relentlessly in the Falcon by the Empire.

The only bit of the film that drag's is the Dagobah part - still good, but overlong IMO.
Got to agree with that, Paul- the Dagobah section dragged on a little- "we got the gist, now let us see more action!"

Cheers Mart

The wife thing won't work for everyone but you get the gist

Big screen viewing would be awesome. They do crop up now and then. If anyone hears of owt like that let us know :)

Back then through the wide eyes of a kid it was ROTJ.

But now through the eyes of an adult its ESB.

Perhaps when I'm an OAP it will be ANH.

There's not much between them though.

ANH has a few scenes that I love but have never been into the whole Death Star part of the film, which is pretty much 50% of the movie. It's great but not Empire or Jedi great. Weirdly I never saw Empire in it's entireity until the late 80's.

Only saw Jedi in the cinema, was too young to see SW and missed out on Empire so a special place in my heart for Jedi and still my best ever experience in the cinema BUT Empire is the best of the trilogy!!!

Obviously SW is v special being the first original film and some of the scenes with Alec Guinness are among my fav in the trilogy 8)
