ok guys, everyone has listed the good buys they have made over the time we have all been collecting, but what about the bad ones??

it was described as "my mates loft find"

mine was some sneaky bastard had put a fake (vaders legs + red snaggletooth together then painted blue) in a bulk photo of figures, (around 50 figures) i paid 60 quid thinking i got a bargin, but when they arrived i relised that ALL the figures were ****ed..... broken damaged limbs etc... wasnt a happy bunny

doh

been quite lucky really, I've a lot of fake, damaged or resealed things sent to me but I've always got my money back (touch wood)

I've been pretty lucky for the most part as well.

The worst one I can think of, was when I bought a complete Imperial Gunner on RS. The guy sent the figure in a bubble envelope, which was fine, but he didn't put the figure/weapon in a baggie or anything. I opened up the figure and the teeny tiny black blaster was nowhere to be found. I sent the guy a PM and he said he put it in the gunners hand when he shipped it. I looked all around the area I opened up the gunner and never did find it. The guy said he might be able to find another blaster and would get back to me. After a couple PMs back and forth he started to just ignore me. It took a couple years, before I finally got an original blaster to go with the figure, as that is not the easiest weapon to track down.

One of my first deals 3 years or more ago I bought what I thought was a complete set of 96 MOC beaters from a person called Dennis Mayfield. they were bought from Ebay. The price was £1700.
I stupidly sent the guy a cheque instead of going through paypal. Once the cheque cleared I expected the figures to be sent up quickly by special delivery. So a week passed then I got sent a photo of a Royal mail card with a tracking number that never worked and the MOCs never ever turned up. It was the worst experience I have ever had in the hobby. I tried taking the Parcel Force number down to Parcel Force but it just couldnt be tracked. I tried to go down the compensation route and was told i wouldnt receive more than £100. After lengthy emails to the seller I gave up and had to wear it...The worst thing thats happened so far.

I stay deep in Scotland and the guy stayed about 600 miles away. It was a no go.
Im glad I stuck by the hobby, Iv had many great experiences since then fortunately.

I got done on my first ever carded figure, potf han trenchcoat from a english guy based in spain,I had zero knowledge of carded figures and purchased him in good faith,I didnt have a clue han tc potf was rare and I paid £60 for him,he turned up and it was only when I purchased a few cheapys like logray etc that I realised he was fake (once bitten twice as shy now though!) never bothered with compo or anything but just learnt a very quick leson.

Grant -if anything like that happens again drop me a pm i'l happily pay someone a visit on your behalf,i'm not tough or anything but talk a good game and that normally works......normally :) and that goes for any of our northern members on here, nothing annoys me more than things like that,1700 big ones is a lot of money to lose

Cheers stef

About 3 years or so ago jay,not sure I can remember his name but once I opened the figure up (about a year later) it was clear the figure was used and he had a repro blaster too  bastard couldnt even give me a real blaster

Grant i could of went down for a couple of hundred. Told the **** if he never gave me the money. I would chop his hands of with a axe. :D :D

I'm starting to worry about ron a bit,he's bloody fond of his axe
something you want to tell us mate?

In all fairness I think we should all go mob handed round peoples houses if they **** one of us over, why should it be fair to lose £10 let alone £1700,it is just so wrong and most of us would be devastated if we lost that amount,my missus would literally ****ing kill me

Cheers stef

I have no doubt at all that you do ron,do you cuddle that more than the missus?wouldnt want to be a fat kid in your street either

Lets form the swf vigilante group,**** with one of us you **** with all of us

Aussie - The han I purchased from him was the first ever carded figure I purchased long before I actually knew about recards/reseals etc,it was my fault in a roundabout way because I rushed in headlong without doing my homework

I still feel like a twat now for falling for it but its always better to be once bitten twice shy (in my opinion)

Yeah, i had a similar experience with a speeder bike & the rear flaps. They were even mentioned as being included in the auction.
