What's in the box?

Does the apparent lack of cane and baggie lend any weight to it possibly being a first shot?

I'd guess there is a Baggie but it's been filtered out during the process of creating the 3D model - any views of the COO?

A very knowledgeable man indeed

" This will be [probably] the only one completely pristine."

Mr Burman, who is also editor of The Collectors Gazette,"

This popped up on FB earlier. What a cool story 8) A few inaccuracies but well done that man

Well spotted. I think the news just likes to make a big thing out of everything.

I am just editing up a video as I have more images of the figure. The scans are really amazing, the details is crazy.

Also just got off the phone from another media place, so this could be all over the papers tomorrow. I think they like these light hearted fluff stories.

Cheers

They are Moos...

It reminded me of the '4D' scans people have done when they are pregnant, but this seems to be a level or two above this.

Great stiff , thanks for sharing it all with us. :D

The story and idea was cool and as many expected it's the emperor in the box and no big find (RF fett).
As the scans show it's no first shot and the cane is behind the figure.

Anyway, now you can display it with a great story and some cool images.
If i where you i would now buy a custom acrylic case in wich you place the box and add some images from the scans to show what is in the box and display it like that in your collection....

Didn't know this was goig to be in the news (given it's not news  ). But seriously, very cool. 8) Bad luck not getting the Fett you were hoping for.

The images are amazing! You can even see imperfections and bubbles within the legs of the figure. And clearly read the text on the leg.

Amazing.

fantastic scans Dave - be a good way of spotting repros before too much longer

You can pay for one to be installed at my place then Spoons

I can't believe how crazy this thing has gone. I only did it to get people talking on my YT channel. Now it seems to be going global.
I have already done one radio interview this morning, and have another booked in for tonight. I'm finding it hard to keep from laughing.

If I had tried to get this sort of coverage it wouldn't have happened.

It seems people like a good mystery especially if it is Star wars related. And Nottingham university are getting a lot of coverage for their X-ray department. Which is great.

Those images are pretty cool. Funny how the story seems to have captured the imagination of the press in this country.

Although it wasn't the rf fett, I still enjoyed following it all.

Cheers for the link Moosy...

I love the 3D image of the Emperor. The people at Gentle Giant must have had great fun while scanning the original figures for the GG Vintage range.

Also makes me realise how easy it is to replicate anything with digital scanning and 3D printing. Repros will be indistinguishable before we know it.
