Obviously, without trying to turn this into a morbid thread as its a bit of an odd one to start, but I don't think we've ever discussed it here before.

So basically if I get run over by a bus tomorrow, I've told my wife to phone Vectis and auction off my collection to use the money to take the kids to Disney.

Dose anyone else have a plan for their collection when Yoda comes a calling?!

Go to my kids, they both love Star Wars. Apart from a phew select items that will get locked in a spaceship coffin with me and sent towards the centre of the Galaxy.

It will be stacked up on my corpse.

I will be on a boat, sailing down a river.

Everything will be covered in petrol.

1 flaming arrow to the sound of Binary Sunset, and me and my collection will sink in flames.

My wife, with the help of Neil will get it up on here quick fast and then spend the proceeds (with my blessing!)

I hope my daughter will take up the mantle but as she's only one I haven't discussed it with her :p

The mrs knows whats good and whats not if she needs to sell it. She also knows who not to listen to if they come a knocking.

Sadly, it would be the Vectis route. Much as I would like some of you guys to be able to own pieces I enjoyed it would need to get as much for them if I'm not there as possible.

Kids will get mine, one will get the loose set and the other the 12 backs which no doubt they'll sell for a 1/4 of their worth and blow the money on video games at which point I'll come back and haunt their arses.

The kids will have them unless they turn to drugs and steal them all from me

When my son's a bit older I have a pile I have for him to play with. Then when he's old enough to understand what they are I will give him the lot.

Both my Son and my wife have the name of a certain US based chap who does a fair deal as a buyer and seller. I'd hope he won't mind being approached for help, purchase or comment... Once it's sold, I expect they'll enjoy the proceeds

My cardbacks will go to whoever is worthy and able to lift them all in one go Thor's hammer style...

Seriously though, vectis is the way to go, less hassle for your spouse/partner.

I really don't know, I'd like to think I've got a bit of time to decide if I am honest!! The logical answer is that they'll be left to the Mrs or my little one and they would be free to sell them and enjoy the money as they saw fit. I will likely jot down what I paid/what they are worth at some point but even if I pop my clogs before I do put pen to paper my Mrs knows who to contact in order to get clued up on that side of things.

Caution - Shameless Plug Approaching

You should see if you can get your hands on a price guide to leave with them Joe 8)

It's a genuine concern for me, brought home by the fact a friend died suddenly last week. We all like to think we will live for many years and have months to decide near the end, but that may not be the case. Even if you're young and fit I think it's worth sorting out a will. I think my wife and family know that most of my stuff holds some value so probably wouldn't be daft enough to leave it all for a house clearance company or something.

(A) Buried with me
(B) Thrown out with the rubbish
(C) Sold and proceeds split between loved ones if I still have any type of collection left at that point
(D) Donated to someone who might appreciate vintage space toys
(E) No idea
(F) One of the above. 8)

You have a couple of Trilogos that I need, maybe time to call in that favour from the Corleone family.

Seems to be a fairly obvious theme running through this thread, it goes to the family. Same for me, one way or the other it would be sold and my wish would be that the proceeds go to my kids when they need it most. I've already vowed to my wife I will sell the whole lot if necessary to go towards the kids education, travels or other venture etc when they are young adults. It's a bit of a running joke in the house but I do mean it, you can't take it with you and it would make me happy to know the collection had gone into something positive for them :)

..the little bastards!! :x

Well I'm thinking my collection would be kept by my wife and daughter, can't see them selling it for the same reasons I couldn't sell my childhood collection for any price - just so many happy memories associated with them for all of us.
If having my toys on display makes them smile when I'm gone that's pretty nice

*if in 60 years (I'm living until I'm 100) either my wife or daughter comes on here selling a collection can someone link back to this post to make them feel guilty

Mine will be sold and the money shared between Karen and the kids, i have a mix of modern and vintage, nothing really high value in the vintage but individually it'll add up to a good amount, i'll be taking one figure R2 into the box with me, just for sentimental reasons
