What slipped away in 2016?

I am a little gutted now that I missed out on a Palitoy 30 back Leia Bespin on the revised photo B card that sold on eBay pretty cheap :!: Was from a good seller too and am kicking myself I didn't put a strong bid on :x

Would have been nice to get another MOC Leia esp with the loss of our dear Carrie

Well I kinda had it, but the postal service was the critical factor in a trade I did. I traded some toys for a pop-up saber R2 (without the saber) also got a Gam Guard to protect the R2 in transit BUT the postal service lost my package, and it was not shipped with any kind of insurance, so I got nothing

Mine is 'the same item' from different sources/sellers and two equally frustrating reasons...

1) Yan Solo miscard (Luke Jedi) listed on Vectis and then removed from sale despite me leaving a very good bid as apparently it was damaged.

2) Yan Solo miscard (Luke Jedi) listed on eBay, flagged to me by Ross Barr as he had seen me miss the Vectis one. Decent(ish) price, but it finished at something like 12:10am... I fell asleep about 11:55 (with my laptop on my lap on the sofa!) and therefore missed it. It finished with zero bids and hasn't been relisted. I woke up at 4am furious and a little embarrassed to have wasted the tip.

They do come up, I will get one, but no less annoying knowing that

I guess I am just gonna have to buy one for you for next year's Christmas, Stephen....

I am still a little sore that I woke up too late for the Meccano Han 12 back at Vectis that went for a reasonable price, all things considered. Was offered another one recently for about double that price and passed....

I only lost out on one item that I really wanted this year, a 12 bell display. Bad timing on my ever fluctuating income/finances mixed with having to finish deals I'd agreed to when I thought I'd be getting it in a trade caused me to miss it. And my luck being what it is, I was flush with cash less than 2 weeks after it was sold. Another will come up eventually just gonna cost me a bit more. Other than that my health was really screwed up for a good portion of the year, with a few hospital stays and surgeries, all of which cost me the ability to earn $/buy stuff, as well as the big kicker, missing out on getting my delayed but still upcoming book, finished.
