Hey Guy's,

I was off the forum for a good few month's before coming back these last few weeks,, and just noticed I do not see Nick active on any of the threads,, and just wondered if he lost the bug and sold up he had a huge collection..??

I mean Nick who loved Jawa's think his username was (NickIOW)..?
 
Find the secret santa reveals thread 2014 for more info. I had a look for it but couldn't find it easily and can't be bothered to look for it.

He's still around, and still collecting.
 
There was a kerfuffle over the SS just gone involving Nick. To be honest I don't think many of us were aware of it at the time as it was all going on behind the scenes. Let's just say the whole thing didn't paint Nick in the best light. Having met Nick I was hoping for a decent outcome as he seems an ok bloke. As far as i'm aware no reasonable explanation was forthcoming on his part.

If you dig out the thread it's all there. It's been and gone though. Not sure it's worth digging up again. But if folk want to know why he's not posting then that's probably why :roll:
 
Well now I'm going to have to go on the hunt as really want to know, thanks x-pact!

Nick, it has been claimed, is not actively participating as he doesn't like confrontation. As is mentioned above a hell of a lot went on behind the scenes to rectify his mess.
I'm still perplexed as to how repeated attempts for scans of receipts to which he claims he has can be seen as confrontation.

Never mind, lesson learnt and a lot of people are more wise as to dealings with Nick.

The situation did get rectified thanks to the generosity of Todd, Frank and myself who amazingly sent just one parcel to the States which found it's way to the address.
 
To sum it up, someone who does not have the best of memory in the world, felt that they could participate in secret santa. They kept forgetting and in the end did not come right out and admit they ****ed up. It's over and made right. I know Nick still reads on here so my only suggestion to him is to make sure you never commit to something that you may overlook or forget about in the end.
 
Just read through the link and now I'm fully up to speed. Cheers for pointing it out although it's a shame it happened in the first place. Oh and I'll try to get it right next time x-pack :D

Funny how it always end's up being the people you would least expect it from.
 
Nick, if you're reading this many of us that met you at the last 3 FF's think your real character and a top bloke. In last year of being on the forums I've met a number of people I class as friends. Your one of them.

Its a real shame what's happened and it's clear from the fact that this thread even exists that your presence on the forum is missed. However as you've maintained your silence we have to assume everything that's been said is true and you do owe several individuals an apology.

I like to think of myself as a good judge of character and I really believe you did not intend to screw anyone, from what I've read things just got out of hand.

The greatest shame in all of this would be if you didn't return to forum and miss the opportunity to put things right. A simple apology to the people involved in your secret Santa debacle would go a long, long way. If this forum means as much to you as I think it does then I hope you can swallow your pride and do the right thing.

I may be wrong but I think you still have enough good will amoungst the members to get a second chance. No harm in trying though hey.

Good post Dan, I agree.

Life is way too short and its a shame when issues can be simply rectified.

Hopefully Nick will read this thread and realise that there is a fix.

Piss poor from Nick, no excuses at all. Had I seen the thread at the time, i quite probably would have banned him. He may be decent bloke but we don't need people who don't go through with SS and then stick their heads in the sand and leave others to kop the flack and make good on the situation.

Massive respect for the three guys who stepped up and sent an extra SS present.
 
Did Nick reimburse the guys that bailed him out? Be very awkward for him to return if he hasn't
