what did you wish for as a kid

i had a little suit case a bit bigger then a butter tub ,though when i went to look at that lewis,s collection he had all his figs in a old marge tub.i kept all weapons in one of them big match boxes

I had a huge collection as a kid.

I started right when the first figures were in the shops, right through to the last 17. Most of my friends didn't start till Jedi came out, so i had all the older items they couldn't get hold of, like the death star.

I certainly didn't have everything. No Cantina or droid factory, but I can remember not being all that bothered as a kid.

One thing i did want but never got was the white tie fighter.

Later on i quite fancied the B-wing and Shuttle, but by then was beginning to lose interest.

The line I had most from was ESB, though was missing the Rebel transporter, tripod laser cannon and Vehilce maintenance thingy.

I had all the figures up to the last 17, except for Han trench coat and B-wing Pilot. Even had 8 stromtroopers. 8)

Only had four of the last 17, though had no idea there were others. Didn't find this out until 92, when I started collecting again and found Amanaman, Yak face, Lando General, Luke skywalker, eve 9d9 and Barada at a car boot sale. all for 50p. Though I didn't buy the last 2 as Eve had a broken arm and I didn't realise Barada was a star wars character.

i really wanted a cantina as a kid but couldnt find one - there was some kid at my school who said he had 3 of them so i tried to swap one with him, i met him at his house and he said he would go in and get one for me.... he was lying his ass off and never had any! i was really pissed off lol

Afraid I was spoilt rotten too.

Every figure and vehicle from 77 onwards. Started keeping figures on cards from about 85 (grandads idea...and a damn good one it turned out to be. :D )

I wanted large vehicles so bad!!!

But I only got the minirigs. :x

Guess that's why...

(the minirigs were still magic though)

I was well behaved for a couple of weeks because my mum was going to reward me with a star wars figure....i ran out of school to meet my mum feeling sick with excitement.

and she had bought me a bloody Klaatu Skiff figure...i didnt say anything but maybe that made it obvious.... lol she meant well.

My biggest mistake one Xmas was choosing an Xwing and a few mini riggs over a brand new boxed Falcon. That was a bad choice on my behalf at the time.

i remember getting 10 carded figs for 99p  , up to a few years ago some shops still had sealed jabba sets at 25 quid ...all gone now though

slim

I can remember having 14 quid for ma birthday getting snowtrooper and yoda (my fav) and some others!!

I remember as a kid getting frustrated looking at the catalogues and early backing cards especially at the USA toys that never made it over here in the UK. Land of the Jawas with escape pod, plastic death star and Dewback etc...

Aye i cant remember getting frustrated that all ma mates had more figures than me!! boo hoo

what did everyone keep there weapons in i kept mines in round flora tub :D

Funny enough.. I used to love winding other kids up by wandering around the stores with a dead rare figure packet pretending to use it as a checklist !!!

I was made up though once managed to find General Madine and Emperor Guard figs came into store in a box of regular jedi figs way before film came out. Obviously didn't know who the hell the charecters were so I wound up the kids again with some fabricated story about who they were...I was cruel like that .!!

Remember some kid at school going to America for his holidays and came back with a cloud pod - THE GINGER HAIRED SPECCY TWAT!

I was just spoiled enough to get everything I wanted, but I never got everything that was available. The only thing that I ever wanted as a kid and was never made was the original Battlestar Galactica mothership. So much so that I once made one out of cereal boxes and tape. The small scaled Mattel BSG Viper fit perfectly in the "landing bays"! :D

I never had a dewback as a kid, land of the jawa's or death star. My cousin had the death star, and always rubbed it in :(

I even regularly checked the section in the star wars comic that had exchanges/swap section, to try to get those 3 items, but never got what I wished for.
