what did you wish for as a kid

I missed out on the toys firsat time round, being born in 1985.All I wish for is an earlier birth year!

When I was a kid I can remember wanting Thundercats and Ghostbuster toys! lmao

Sadly all my Star Wars toys were beaten up second hand ones, they were my favourite toys though! Especially my Millenium Falcon and my chewy Chewbacca lmao

as a kid i was lucky enough to have most of the jedi figures, jabba playset, x-wing, falcon and a few minirigs.

my brothers mate gave me his old figures 20 or so including luke, leia, han, chewy, darth, obi wan, yoda.

i was lucky enough to get dragged around a lot of car boot sales with my dad and picked up loads of figures including lando general, paploo, romba, anakin although i didnt really know about last 17 back then and just went on my instincts.

figures wise i was after boba fett, death squad commander, ugnaught, bespin guard.

i always wanted ewok village and a rancor.

i remember swapping 2 he man figures for a walrus man and hammerhead at school.

I never had a dewback as a kid, land of the jawa's or death star. My cousin had the death star, and always rubbed it in :(

I even regularly checked the section in the star wars comic that had exchanges/swap section, to try to get those 3 items, but never got what I wished for.

Robbie,

Did you ever track those down as an adult collector.

Grant.

I was quite lucky as a kid as my uncle owned a toyshop in town,Henshalls I think it was called.Anyway whenever i got a new figure he always gave me (well my dad)a 25% discount so I got most new figures and playsets that I wanted.
Wasn't till a few years ago I was telling this to one of my mates when he knew I got into collecting vintage star wars and he asked if I remembered the shop my uncle had.I told him of course I remebered and told him about the discounts he gave me,he laughed and said that he and marshy(his mate) used to go in and get 100% discount.
Twat,he used to rob from my uncle's shop :x :x ,no wonder he had all the new figures as soon as they were released.
Still have a laugh about it though,

Hi Grant,
Yeah it was pretty cool, you just wish you took some photos or something at the time to look back on as I can still remeber the shop but a few pics would be amazing. We had a family wedding last year and I was talking to my cousin who mentioned what happened to the stock (not just star wars) when he closed down.
Told me that a lot of it went into a big cellar at his house and got mouldy and eventually got thrown out.
He could of at least given my dad a ring and dropped the star wars stuff off at my parents house, now would have been like all christmas' rolled into 1.
