Emiel and I were discussing westerns yesterday in chat, anyone else got a favourite western film?

I must admit I like the "man with no name" trilogy as it reminds me of watching them with my dad loads as he is a big fan!

I recently watched them all again, Fistfull of dollars, for a few dollars more and the good the bad and the ugly!

Awesome :D

you talkin to me pilgrim  ...john wayne made some great westerns as well !
some great italian ones out there but they tend to be very violent

Think Emiel shares a favourite of yours slim!

I also like the magnificent 7 8)

can't beat an Eastwood Western - I watched Hang em High on friday night, not as good as the trilogy but still worth a look

my all time favourite is once upon a time on the west - a real classic, Charles Bronson's best film by a long way

just when you mention bronson i really like that movie where lee marvin is a mountie and chases bronson all over the place but bronson gets away in the end..what the heck is that movie called ??

All Clint Eastwood westerns of course, plus Once Upon a Time in the West. I also like Tombstone for some reason. My favourite is The Outlaw Josey Wales.

My favourite western TV-series is:

is it Death Hunt? I've not seen it but I Googled it :)

and another vote for High Plains Drifter. I really liked Deadwood, but anything that comes out of the HBO studios is a must see.

I'm quite happy sitting watching westerns but I can't remember the names of any of them
Great sort of mindless entertainment, you just sit back and don't need to think for 2 hours.

Loved Deadwood - gutted they never got to finish it :(
Just watched the remake of 3:10 To Yuma and thought it was pretty good.

love westerns especially Eastwood ones, can watch them over and over and never get bored, the trilogy is great and so is the outlaw Josey Wales, very long too

also watched the return of sabata last week with Lee Van Cleef

like westworld too and from noon till three with Charles Bronson, thats really funny as he plays a coward in it... its all on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYtuy400IZg
