I have been using an old CRT TV for gaming for a while now, but I recently thought how nice it would be to watch old films on it too. I'm not sure about anyone else but while I enjoy the Star Wars films in HD or 4K, it's not how I remember seeing it, and being able to see every brush mark on Vader's helmet does ruin the magic a bit.
So I picked up this DVD player for £10, and I still have the old "theatrical" DVDs, and wow they look great on this TV
The detail is just right for these old special effects.
