Grand Master
what a right mare at the post office today, I had somewhere else to be so my better half took the 2 parcels in for me today that I had to get sent, I told her it would be £2.60 to post, so we meet back at the car & she tell's me she has been charger £5.20 for the parcel 2nd standard, now I weighed & measured the parcel prior to it going & I know exactly what the actual cost of it is, as its like only a 3rd the size of the new small parcel  Lorraine (my better half) said she even asked her to double check which the woman did & confirmed it at £5.20  :?
So I hot footed it back receipt in hand & asked for the manager, he went through 2 sacks of mail till he got to it & agreed the woman on the counter was wrong as I knew she was, so I got my refund, but what a bloody headache.
Last week Lorraine posted an item in another P.O near us & was charger £5+ rather than the actual cost of £3, this time it being down the the item being to long to fit through the small parcel slot length ways - WTF??, it clearly states on the slot that the slot is for width & height & that the length can be 10cm longer that the width/slot length, I only found out when we got back home that Lorraine had conceded to the counter staff & paid the extra £2+
Plus When the new prices/small packet sizes came in to effect I had to spend half an hour at the tiny post office explaining the new pricing structure & size limitations the the woman who runs the small P.O in the village as she was totally lost as to why there are now 2 criteria for small parcels, they have to go in for training every 2 or 3 weeks & be tested, but do they test them on size restrictions & new price changes etc?? - answer, no :? they just check that they ask about hazardous items & packaging etc :x its a bloody loosing battle I tell you, what is it coming to when you have to teach staff there jobs in order that your not fleeced every time you try to post an item.
When I spoke to the P.O Manager today he said they had had 14 individual price alteration in the past 2 weeks alone :?
It really is a sad state of affairs & I just wanted to put this thread up a a HUGE WARNING that you make sure you know what price an item is prior to sending, as you have 2 chances of finding out at the P.O these days & Bo'b's dead.
End of rant, hope this helps some of you as I am so tired of the same **** day in day out from our dwindling postage services, we mush be the laughing stock of Europe
