Vintge Kenner Star Wars toy illustration Project

I'm an artist, gallery lecturer and avid Star Wars fan. Over the last two years I have been trying to depict in watercolour the entire vintage Kenner Star Wars action figures (toys from my childhood).

A few years ago I had quite a large collection, but I had to downsize (due to space issues, financial issues and a very patient, but exasperated partner, who had come to the end of her tether re: my collecting).

A while back,I struck on the idea of documenting the toys in watercolour, so I could "collect" them without taking up too much space. I have started selling some (mainly through commission), I can't claim that I am reaping a hefty reward in financial return, but at my own indulgence, I would like to think that maybe they will be collected, cherished, shared, swapped and sold.

I have posted on this forum before, but not in a while. I hope it's OK post this here (?) to let anyone interested see what my star wars project is all about and I welcome feedback and suggestions.

Love it. Fantastic work.
Hard to choose, but I think my favourite is the Topps card Rebel Commando.

Having a certain artistic bent, I've been recently thinking of doing something like this myself.
Probably go down the digital painting route though.

The illustration is just slightly bigger than the actual toy to scale. Fiddly little devil to paint.

Hey Ali, as you know I'm a big fan of your work and so is my other half. She is in love with the 2 non Star Wars water colour paintings you've kindly painted for us over the past few years. If I can think of a third idea I'll be intouch. I Highly recommend Ali work to any one who hasn't bought a piece from him yet.
